Joe B All-22 Bills at Browns - Allen sees ghosts/White and Safeties shine

The first area of regression is one he seemed to have under control since returning from an elbow injury in his rookie season. Before the injury, Allen was bailing out of the pocket far too early. In those instances last year, there was still time to operate in the pocket, especially with routes about to come open. It was an area he improved upon, and it hasn’t been a significant problem since. It returned in Cleveland, though, as Allen robbed himself of multiple plays when he still had time to operate in the pocket. Once he bailed out, he usually scrambled to the right and tried a throw on the run — and predictably, the accuracy of those throws dips by quite a bit. Despite not throwing an interception, Allen certainly provided the Browns chances on some of those ghost-seeing plays.

Allen must learn to throw the ball with anticipation regularly. Maddeningly enough for fans, he showed he could do it on the final drive. On two consecutive plays, Allen threw the ball with anticipation as wide receivers John Brown and Isaiah McKenzie got into their break. As the players turned around, the ball was right there with perfect placement, allowing them to get out of bounds to stop the clock. It’s in there somewhere with Allen, and it’s his job to trust his eyes, his knowledge of the playbook and his receivers.

Glad to see Knox get recognition. He appears to be getting better.

Are you surprised?

Well occasionally people like to take shots at Jerry. Trent has more sacks so I was curious. I don't subscribe to the Athletic.

I don’t know.

maybe I’m smitten with Josh but I think he did just fine for what he was given via the play calling.

He had a lot of really good plays too but i noticed the pocket bailing

He was always going to take time to develop but he’s going to be really good

This is what I'm seeing. Hands a little shaky to start (could be nerves) but he has everything physically. Cautiously optimistic on Rambo!

Another All-22 brought to you by a guy with no actual football knowledge. I look forward to the other beat writers, who will have dramatically different takes on the same film.

Please post them. I don’t watch film so really like to see what they say

Off topic. Welcome back. Go Cuse! Seemed like you had some time away. I was home sick from work yesterday and watched Daniel-son win the All Valley!

I will. I have nothing against Joe B. It just amazes me that each week I see these writers have vastly different accounts from the All-22. It’s come to the point that I don’t really trust any of them.

Oh No! Joe B, Cover1 and YPP have all said Allen has some issues. I can't wait to see the "optimists" say they are "no bodies" and it is obviously the play calling poison this thread from rationale discussion. TT and EJ just need a little more time.
