The Sham Impeachment Inquiry & Whistleblower Saga: A Race to Get Ahead of the OIG

Democrats’ ugly Christmas present to the nation

New York Post, by Editorial

Original Article

House Democrats’ impeachment show moves to Jerry Nadler’s Judiciary Committee this week — but don’t expect the proceedings to get any more serious. Sometime before Nadler starts things off at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Intelligence Committee chief Adam Schiff is supposed to send along his final report — which is apparently to be all the evidence the House will consider on the Ukraine matter, despite the near-complete lack of first-hand testimony. Judiciary is simply going to “consider” whether the wrongdoings that Schiff alleges actually constitute “constitutional grounds for impeachment,” with experts brought in to opine on whether President Trump’s actions warrant such a grave step.

It was so much easier before the internet, Schiff back then would have been writing all the news cue cards for ABC/NBC/CBS to parrot  and nobody would be able to begin to challenge them

True, but without the internet/social media Trump or someone like him isn't elected in the first place and there is no need for the coup and all this nonsense that has followed from it.

Nixon won and faced the toady media’s wrath

i will sadly believe he was guilty but after watching this garbage pile up, there are grounds to maybe doubt it was nothing but a media/Dem crock of crap

Funny part is they are STILL loudly declaring it's a slam dunk on cnn, yahoo, huff etc.

However,

The Democratic National Committee has a money problem. And that could hurt its nominee’s chances of beating President Donald Trump in 2020.

In the first four months of 2019, the party spent more than it raised and added $3 million in new debt. In the same period, its Republican counterpart was stockpiling cash.

Shocking.

Trump lawyers to Jerry Nadler: We won’t participate in your sham Wednesday law professor hearing

The impeachment torch is about to be passed from Adam Schiff (House Intelligence Committee) to Jerry Nadler (House Judiciary Committee).

Nadler scheduled a “hearing” for Wednesday, but it’s not an evidentiary hearing and the witnesses (as of this writing) are unknown.

What is known it that there will be three pro-impeachment law professors called by Democrats to opine on what constitutes an impeachable offense. (Spoiler — if Democrats are calling the law professors, they will opine that anything and everything Trump did is an impeachable offense). Republicans will be allowed one legal expert to say the opposite.

In other words, it’s a show hearing, meant to give the pro-impeachment mainstream media a news cycle dominated (by numbers) by pro-impeachment opinions.

Trump’s lawyers sent a letter tonight to Nadler rejecting the premise and procedure of the hearing, and refusing to participate. Politico reports:

Hey whatever

this is how a story works in our society

a key witness is asked what evidence there is, says his speculations, this is totally ignored by the press

good enough for the media and those who believe it

They've got a funny way of going about it. <_<

Gosh, golly and gee, this little tidbit from Catherine Herridge about the whistleblower seems kinda sorta important, yeah?

Especially since they are moving into a new ‘phase’ of the impeachment circus.

The wording was confusing? Huh?

Alrighty then.

From CBS:

CBS News has reviewed documents that show the anonymous whistleblower reached out to the intelligence community watchdog on October 8 to clarify the nature of his or her contact with Democratic majority staff of the House Intelligence Committee before the complaint was filed.

The whistleblower acknowledged reaching out to the committee, but claimed that nothing substantial was discussed and that the staff member directed them to go through official channels, according to the “Memorandum of Investigative Activity,” provided to House and Senate Intelligence Committee leadership by intelligence community inspector general (ICIG) Michael Atkinson. The form is dated October 18 and documents the October 8 outreach by the whistleblower.

Republicans have seized on the contact with Democratic committee staff to question the credibility of the whistleblower, while Democrats have downplayed the significance.

Of course Democrats are downplaying this, they need the leaker … sorry, the whistleblower … to be credible.

Pretty tricking wording there. "Congress or congressional committee(s)."

Easy to see how someone smart enough to work for the CIA would get confused.
