there is 100 years of tape on fitz.

this game is by far not going to be easy (when has it been this season) for the bills. when an offense can't score points, the defense can only do you so many favors. I'm leaning toward a bills loss as bad as it is for me to believe it but when you talk about faith, I have little faith in the bills offense to get the job done.

Yes of course, he's played in the league for ages on several different teams, but as K-9 mentioned above, I meant that with Rosen starting during the early part of the Dolphins season, there was not much video for our defense to scout in terms of Fitz throwing to Miami's WRs. I am sure that some of the playbook/passing concepts changed with the switch from Rosen to Fitz.

Regardless, my main point is that I think the Bills defense will be able to apply some lessons learned to this second match up with the Fish. And I'm not a Wallace hater (CBs get beat sometimes and he's a young developing player), but I am hoping to see a bit more of Kevin Johnson in this game to see what he can bring to the table.

This is likely an oversimplification, but I thought the game plan for Fitz was established 5-6 years ago: sit on everything short, stack the box, give him man coverage on the outside and dare him to beat you over the top.

That's what I recall from his time in Buffalo.  Once opponents keyed in on FJ and sat on the quick stuff our offense stalled.  He doesn't have the arm talent to make you pay on the deep ball. He throws them 5 feet out of bounds or underthrows resulting in INTs.

I really don't think it would be hard to figure out fitz game regardless of scheme and player. if so, they have the game they almost won against the bills earlier in the season to go on.

Fitz is 1/11th of the equation on offense. Every other player on that offense will be broken down and scrutinized in every aspect of his game in every game situation. It would be a mistake to assume that because Fitz did certain things with the Jets, for instance, that he would do the same with the Phins.

BILLS (6-3)

 3

Previous rank: No. 13

The Bills looked like a middle-of-the-pack team on Sunday against the Browns, hence their placement on the Power Rankings. We saw a breakdown in three phases in Cleveland: On offense, Josh Allen sailed a couple deep balls past open receivers (sound familiar?), and Buffalo was held under 20 total points for the fifth time this season. On defense, the Browns were able to march 82 yards on 10 plays for the go-ahead score late in the fourth quarter. On special teams, kicker Steven Hauschka missed two-field goal attempts, including the 53-yarder that sealed Buffalo's fate in the final minute. At 6-3, there's no need to panic. The schedule stays light, with winnable games against the Dolphins and Broncos over the next two weeks. Take care of business there, and a playoff ticket is close to punched. But can this team be trusted right now?

This is a pretty fair assessment.

Yes, but he's like a tiger in the tall grasses of the savannah at this point given all of the uniform changes.

I actually think they lose... Dolphins exposed the Bills a bit a few weeks ago, probably should've won that game and are playing some solid football right now.

If you actually believe that bet Miami on the money line.  Personally I think the Bills -5.5, which is the current line is a gift.  I'll be heading to the casino this week.

Well Miami has played well for the past four weeks. Could've easily beat Pittsburgh, beat the Jets, and then the Colts(without their starting QB, but a win is a win).

Considering they probably should have beat the Bills four weeks ago and how they are playing as of late along with the Bills being unable to score points, I'm skeptical the Bills win.

That’s not an unfair take at all.

I honestly wouldn't be opposed to rolling with Singletary and Yeldon, over Gore.

He doesn't bring any dynamic ability to the offense, and we're not good when we try to slow down and power run.

At least with Yeldon, and the fact we want to pass more, the defense has to respect the multiplicity of our offense with whichever RB is in the game.

Also, enough with Lee Smith...  Kroft and, especially Knox, are good blockers and we need to move towards a spread attack with one back who has the ability to run, block and catch/run routes out of the backfield.

I'm sure this won't happen, but it seems to be a fix for a stagnant offense when we're post trade deadline and have to work with what we have.

When have you NOT been skeptical???

Omg--

P.S. the LOLphins suck'd sunday.  Funny how you are so hypocritical! They played poorly and beat Hoyer & his 3 bad INTs but you say they are playing good football??? The Bills have been playing better than Miami but you give them zero credit. Look at the stats. You need to pick a side someday.

Redemption game for Josh.  I think this will be his best game of the season.

Singletary better see 15-20 touches!

Rushing Touches.    Singletary had a number of pass catches Sunday that got him close to [edit] 11 touches

20 total rushes by the team

TBH he needs a min of 20 rushing attempts
