Bills at Browns Post Game Post Mortem

Recommended Posts

Browns have lost to

Niners

Rams

Titans

Seahawks

Pats

They destroyed the Ravens.

They are a long ways from a bad team.

That not apologizing for 266 yards passing, 2 missed FGs, throwing 3 yard passes in the last two minutes, 8 rushing attempts for Singletary, giving up 150 on the ground almost every game seemingly...but they lost to a team that is far from as bad as their record indicates.

For everyone complaining about the lack of rushing attempts:

The Browns overloaded the box for most of the game to force us to throw.  It was bad.  They were so confident we couldn't beat them through the air that they often had one more player than they "should" in the box based on our formation, and we still couldn't consistently throw it.  The third down play on the final drive is a perfect example of how little they respected Allen.  Just look at that uncovered bunch!  40+ QBs in the league would identify the blitz and complete the throw.  Our starter cannot.

Playcalling could be better but Allen is abysmal.

Nothing more revealing about Allen’s progress than that clip! ??

Aside from the fact that one of the Browns rushers is running untouched towards him on the other side?

If he throws to Beasley it is likely batted down - he had a split second to unload the ball to avoid the sack

Ok.  You can moan, complain, cry whatever.  Pick your verb.  Won’t change that McD ain’t going anywhere.

I'm doing none of those. And I know McDermott isn't going anywhere, the Bills don't have foreward thinking ownership. In the end, McDermott will be just as trash as Rex was, just a different kind.

He was fine when we ran man principles. Hes just too small to be physical hes NORMALLY bend but dont break. Landry is definitely on par with AT LEAST Brown. He's a 1b receiver. Landry is a horrific match for Wallace

Yep. Not throwing Wallace under the bus, just noting there are match-ups that are bad for him.

Teams know to match him up with physical receivers who play that physical bump and run game and that is not Wallace's game. Wallace seems to be better suited keeping the play in front of him with a cushion coming up to prevent RAC, or trying to come up to make a play on the ball and schematically the Bills defense is ok with giving up those short gainers.

The problem is teams are forcing him to hang with physical receivers in man coverage for longer with routes that drag across the field, on deeper routes, and on slants where he is no longer playing to his strength. He is not small for a corner, but I would not consider him a very physical corner that can stay on a receiver, harass him, and prevent the completions.

He was pathetic.   There is no act.  It was in plain sight all day.

21st ranked pass defense in the league and he was sub 50%, 90% of the day.

You cry about not hitting passes over 20 yards.  Hit Roberts right in the hands.  Drops it.

You are on record saying you would rather see the team pass for 300 and lose vs. win.  You don’t care if the team wins or loses.  You’d actually rather they lose to prove some bizarre point.  That pretty much tells us all how seriously to take your posts.

So you know McD isn’t getting fired yet post after post you demand it.  That makes a ton of sense.

You gotta love idiots like Twist of Fate.....they make the most ridiculous posts in weeks where we win....that are simply not true....and in loss weekends he ramps it up

This is the way it goes now.  If your QB isnt Mahomes then he sucks.   Its the way the world works, everything is black and white.

The offense is a work in progress.   He needs to get the deep ball right.  But he also needs some beasts on that side of the ball with him.  They have some nice players there now but there are no real blue chippers.  Also help if the kicker hits field goals.
