Redskins Just made OT Trent Williams Available [Edit: now NFI]

Recommended Posts

I'd give up a first for him if it wasn't for his injuries.  He hasn’t played a full season since 2013 and hasn’t played over 800 snaps since 2015.  He was also revered by his peers for playing through painful injuries so I don't question his work ethic.  He's an elite LT that the Bills could use but you're taking a chance on him so a 2nd round pick is the most I'd give up for him.

He has not played this year and with him perusing medical help he may choose to just continue to be unavailable and Bills will have little leverage to make him play.

.

He was also seeking a new contract and will likely hold out next year without one.

Unless the coaching staff has someone who knows him really well it is a hard pass for 2nd and above

...didn't we sign one of their wounded warriors, a/k/a Murphy who is on the proverbial "TBD Hot List"?.....inherit the balance of his 2019 $10.85 mil tariff and $12.5 mil due in 2020?.....as well as ponying up a pick?...."Alex, I'll take AIN'T HAPPENING for $1,000"...........

Alex (Smith) also is not happening. Another wounded veteran in Washington.

So what would the plan be, start him at LT and kick Dawkins over to guard? Does that move carry enough of a positive value to offense the draft haul this move would take? I'd pass on this. We need a receiver or a 1 tech. Keep building the o-line through the draft.

I'd do it for a first.  Hes the best OT in football.  Build around Josh.  The defense will not hold everyone under 20 points.  As much as everyone wants a Wr, me included.  Who's available?  Trent Williams is available.  He plays a premier position and is top in the league at it.

Let Cleveland give up a 1st round pick for an OL that hasn't played a full season what seems like forever and is 31 years old.

No thanks.

This isn't a 26 year old Jason Peters that the Eagles were getting when that trade happened.

This is going to be a messy situation.

Im sure Washington has its side but this is more horrible Pr for them. Especially if there is any truth them misdiagnosing a potential cancer growth.  That franchise sucks under that nerd owner.  Shame because it was an elite one.
