Week 5: Bills (+2.5) at Titans

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking both Allen and Singletary do not play in this game. I just hope the Bills do not suffer a letdown after getting sky high for the Pats game. It would be great to go into the bye week 4-1

With the bye the week after there is no way Allen plays.

This is an L either way.

Can I make a list of posts that are shots in the dark?  Supposing that the team won't expose a QB in protocol to rush him back when they could give him nearly 3 calendar weeks to recover rather than 6 days is just an outlandish thing to say?  OK.

The fact that I think this is a loss whether or not Allen plays is stupid only because you disagree with it. No Allen, No Singletary, on the road after an emotional loss?  Clearly, what am I thinking?  You could have asked me in August and I would have marked this week as an L.  Based on recent events I'm more convinced.

This is an 8-8 football team give or take one game on either side.

Let's review. You're not saying there's a chance he doesn't play, you're not saying it would be prudent for him to rest to the bye, you're saying there's no chance he plays. That's a bad take because, as I said, it's ignorant. Until we know more it's ridiculous to think it's clear either way.

Now you're also assuming that Singletary isn't playing (unless I missed some news somewhere) which is also ridiculous given the fact that he came close to playing this week. As for the assertion that it's a loss whether or not Allen plays, I suppose that is a difference of opinion. I think mine is closer to reality given the overall context of the first four weeks of the NFL season, but if you feel super confident that the best (or at least top 3) defense in the NFL that made Tom Brady look like Marcus Mariota, can't beat a team that got beat by Gardner Minshew, then you take that feeling to the bank and have fun with it. I think you're very misinformed and projecting your negativity onto reality.

SO +2.5 on the road with currently Matt Barkely at QB.  Yeah once Allen is cleared this line flips

the home field is standard normally -3  .  for the game to be + 2.5,  the Bills have the slight favor.

And that is with their Starting QB right now on the shelf, let it be announced he is cleared protocol say Wed or Thursday and what what that line does (I doubt after the hit vegas already baking in that he will be cleared to play)

Titans play that conservative game of don’t turn the ball over and you got a shot at winning.

No problem.  Titans -149 on the money line right now.

Mariota is the only QB this season who has played all 4 weeks not to throw a pick

For anyone attending, remember this is a NOON game in Nashville with the time zone change. Plan accordingly.

Are you going? We got a crew headed up from Atlanta!

Yea and you can’t discount the let down the team may have after losing a game like this

You mean like the let down the Titans had on the road yesterday after back-to-back losses to division rivals Indy and Jacksonville?? Didn't seem to affect them any now, did it? 👎Jesus H your logic is beyond flawed. Is this a gimme for the Bills? No. Could they lose? Certainly. But to say they'll lose because "you can't discount losing a game like this" is simply asinine. Each game is a different entity and has no bearing on the outcome of the next. Some people just try too hard to be miserable. 🤦‍♂️

I'm actually more confident in Barkley than I am in Allen.*

*Allen needs to be the starter to continue his development, but right now, Barkley might be better to run the offense.

I don't have a problem sitting Allen this week, concussion or not. To my eye, he's regressed to bad habits, and now Belichick gave the rest of the league the blueprint on how to neutralize him.

Just like last year, where he had a chance to sit and learn and come out better for it, he needs a refresher. Let Barkley play the Titans. Give them a little curve ball. Now you have 3 weeks with the bye for Allen to get his game back, and maybe also work on how to respond to the next team to try that same defense on him.

I don't care what the media will say about "benching" him. He needs a break. Even before Belichick did his voodoo to him, Josh had the yips on those two early throws. The Pats were in his head. McDermott has to make sure this doesn't spiral downward.

Bills +125

Both of those lines leave a bit to be desired.

They are hedging until the Allen decision is made.

You can get Titans -150 at Bovada

You can get Bills +135 at BetOnline

BB didn't really do anything different than the Bengals or even the Giants to a certain degree. He just has the horses to pull off a cover-0 blitz.

Allen still needs to get his game right. A week or two off won't hurt.

Your'e right.  Those footwork problems to start the game are no good.

These next few games worry me, and will decide if the Bills have arrived this season. We have a stretch here with similar teams that we "should" or could beat. The Titans, Ravens, Brown, Eagles, and Steelers are playing hard, even though their record isn't favorable. We need to win those games. If we get 2018 Barkley v. Jets, we will be fine. If we get Barkley yesterday or Allen v. Pats/Bengals/Jets, we are in trouble. We can't keep expecting to turn the ball over against similar tiered teams and expect to keep adding +1 to the win column.

Sitting up in 300's, Allen had a few misreads on cover 0 with guys having a step out of their break on either a post or seam. It was frustrating. It got to the point where you could pick the route as a fan from the stands pre-snap, and Allen went somewhere else.

I get why you say this, but..........

Is this going to be the norm for Allen, meaning, after every bad game (or half) he needs to sit and watch and learn? When does he get past this?

Hope not. But you see Dabol pointing at his head after these repeat mistakes. I'm not down on Allen at all but we have to break this habit now.

That D is spectacular. This will be a good year for Allen to figure it out.

I wonder if or what Belichick can share with his old player Vrabel? Belichick knows the Bills are a serious threat, I’d think he would want to see the Bill lose.
