The Bills Defense Just Gave a Master Class

Recommended Posts

Unreal. The offense tosses up four interceptions, and somehow the defense holds the Pats to 224 yards! (We had 375.)

Brady averaged 3.85 yards/attempt on 39 passes!!!!!!

It's a brutal loss in some ways, given that we outgained them by 150 yards. And our offense still has a long way to go (more experience individually and together, a few new players down the road). But if the Bills keep playing defense like that we are going to win a truckload of games, even with a hot and cold, mistake-prone offense. It was a joy to watch them.

Im frustrated that the offense was atrociously bad, but the defense will keep them in any game

The offense was not atrociously bad.  They just played against a defense that is elite.  The turnovers by Allen were killer, but the offense played well.  They had nearly 400 yards of offense and were 2 yards away from taking the lead in the 4th quarter.  This offense is going to get better. It is basically 10 new players that will get better as they gel.

Belichick and Brady’s days numbered. Brady showed his age a lot today. He can float one in there, so could Fitz. Brady doesn’t have the same control when he has to put zip on it.

That Pats team isn’t breaking the Bills four Super Bowl record.

The Bills have a Super Bowl caliber D. The offense will get there.

Before the game I was afraid of Pats (Espescially after destroying Steelers in week 1). Now I think our Defence is Scary. They hold us in the game against best team in the  league after 3 INTs and TD allowed by punt team.

After competitive game vs Patriots we are ready to compete vs any playooff team in NFL.

Fun game. Two playoff-caliber D's showcased their wares today. No worries on the outcome, outside of two things:

1. The overall health of Josh.

2. The receivers.

3. The OL is merely average this season - nothing we didn't know.  They were horrific last season, so it's a big upgrade, but there is no elite talent on the OL or WR corps yet.

Can you imagine what this defense will be like next season with an elite free agent pass rusher?

Let's add LT, big WR and CB through FA or the draft and another year of experience to reduce mistakes. Lo will probably retire too so we'll need to replace him.

None of Allen's (LONG) INTs were nearly as much of a problem as the blocked punt.  That play was just awful - college football stuff.
