They make a huge difference as to taking control of a game. Such momentum shifters

It was one errant pass in the short to medium range. My point was that all the Qb's do this. Even Rodgers and the like.

Josh needs to work on the deep ball to round out his game. He has done quite well in the short to medium areas.

No, I'm seriously concerned that he forces open receivers to make more difficult catches than necessary. Numerous times Brown was open and couldn't get any YAC because of an inaccurate pass. It's a concern at this point.

I could understand him being late, as he's still young and learning to read defenses. It's his inaccuracy that still rears it's ugly head too often.

YAC - what's that? :bag:

Not really although the pass seemed to take ages to come down

He is late. End zone to Knox a split second earlier is a TD.

Here's where having an expert watch that particular play would really help.

First off Allen was not widely inaccurate there as he got the ball exactly where it needed to be but as you say appeared to be off by a "split second".  I can live with that in a 2nd year QB.

But what I would be curious about is at tomorrows film session at One Bills Drive will anyone say that Knox should have adjusted ever so slightly and stepped to the ball?  I mean if he does it blocks the DB from knocking the ball away and it's a either a TD catch or PI in the end zone as the DB would have had to run through Knox to get to the ball.  Kind of like that first Cleveland TD where the coverage was good but the WR made a nice adjustment to the ball.

I actually really like YAC as one of the metrics for how a QB is doing delivery the ball. I don’t think lack of YAC is a good defense for JA, rather an indictment.

Current YAC leaders

1. Rodgers

2. Brady

3. Goff

4. Rivers

5. Mahomes

The only players Josh beats are back ups, starters who have missed a bunch of time (ie Brees, Tannehill, etc)

Jeremy on WGR made a good point.  I was thinking the same thing yesterday. Most of Allen’s completions are to guys standing at a spot or throwing to a spot while the player is turning around. He’s rarely completes passes while the WR is on the run. The short slants to Beasley can be good, or the inaccurate pass to Brown would’ve been on the run.  He rarely throws guys open. He’s basically doing what everyone said about Tyrod. He’s a taller Tyrod right now.

I said the same thing. He doesn't throw with anticipation. He throws to guys in open spots in the defense. It's why I've had Baker rated over him. Baker anticipates breaks.

It's why he and Tyrod seem to hold the ball so long. They have to see the receiver be open opposed to throwing them open.

What an idiotic statement.

But I get it, the loss stings, so we say stupid stuff.

Nah, Allen just sucks.

Eventually this will not be a debatable point.

I'm sure there are folks around here who still think Tyrod could have done it and should still be the starting QB too.

We all want the same thing!  The difference is some of us like to delude ourselves into believing something because it feels good, others are a bit more rational.

Tyrod wouldn't attempt 1/10tg of the throws Josh attempts on a weekly basis. This chemistry with Brown could turn into something special. They hooked up on some great throws and routes  Taylor would NEVER attempt

The recipe across the NFL for a W is solid rushing numbers, NO turnovers and a solid passing game 220+ yds. Enough to keep the chains moving.  The 300 yarders through the air often don’t win, they’re playing catch up.  But it’s nice to have the ability in your back pocket. I think that’s why so many people harp on it. They Just want to see Josh show the ability to do it. But today isn’t the day to give a crap about that. Josh played very well and nobody should complain.
personally when I look at stats for Lamar Jackson, Allen and a few others I count the rushing yardage as part of their overall package. Allen accounted for over 300 yards of offense today. That’s a day!
