Studio... Version but how much closer to a live vibe can you get!

In collaboration with Garcia and Kruetzmann... Some of the best lyrics ever written...  Deep...

"In another time's forgotten space
Your eyes looked through your mother's face
Wildflower seed on the sand and stone
May the four winds blow you safely home

Roll away, the dew
Roll away, roll away the dew
Roll away, roll away the dew
Roll away, roll away the dew

I'll tell you where the four winds dwell
In Franklin's tower there hangs a bell
It can ring, turn night to day
It can ring like fire when you lose your way

Roll away, the dew
Roll away, roll away the dew
Roll away, roll away the dew
Roll away, roll away the dew

God save the child who rings that bell
I may have one good ring baby, you can't tell
One watch by night, one watch by day
If you get confused just listen to the music play

Some come to laugh their past away
Some come to make it just one more day
Whichever way your pleasure tends
If you plant ice you're gonna harvest wind

Roll away, the dew
Roll away, roll away the dew
Roll away, roll away the dew
Roll away, roll away the dew

I'll tell you where the four winds sleep
Like four lean hounds the lighthouse keep
Wildflower seed in the sand and wind
May the four winds blow you home again

Roll away, the dew
Roll away, roll away the dew
Roll away, roll away the dew
Roll away, roll away the dew"

His lyrics will live forever. He articulated everything I was feeling but couldn't put words to. RIP Robert. Thank you for everything.

he spoke to your inner hired gun of the Old West?

Sad day - he was incredibly gifted, with the ability to leave things open ended enough, to let people interpret his songs in a number of ways, to suit their own circumstances.

post some favourites not already here....

Bird Song, would be a personal favourite not already mentioned.

Box of Rain, another awesome song.

He was able to do all types, sad stuff like China Doll, Stella Blue, to the bizarre of China Cat. The hilarious Tennessee Jed, with the drunken cadence to match the lyrics.

Uncle John's Band - yet another favourite. The list could go on for a fair old time. It's about time I listened to some more of his stuff.
