The most encouraging thing of it all...

The poise that Josh Allen has showed when adversity has faced him.  I can't think of too many internal qualities that you'd want from your franchise QB more so than a coolness, competence and the ability to deliver when the pressure is on.  The guy ever since he made his first 4th quarter comeback last year I believe leads the NFL in that category.  Even last week when the Giants began flirting with a comeback he put the team on his shoulders and led them to a TD to seal the game.

No moment seems to big for him.

He is our franchise QB.

That’s why I brought up in another thread.

The guy is just a GAMER. No matter what he is facing. No matter the odds. No matter the situation. The guy just doesn’t want to lose. He doesn’t want to fail. He wants to be that guy to lead this team to the playoffs and beyond. He wants to show the fans. Show the coaches. Show his team mates. That he’s the guy that’s going to do it. He may not be perfect. He makes some mistakes. But he tries to learn from his mistakes. And he just won’t be denied. He’s got what McD talks about all the time. Heart. He’s got it. It’s HUGE. He’s got grit by the truck loads. The guy is just a football player cut from and old school cloth.

I really want him to be the one to lead us for years. To take us to the highest level.

He will learn and grow from adversity.  All the QB's who have failed in the past could never grow because they did not have "game" when things got ugly, hence their careers were over before they could learn how to get out of those situations.  Allen is at the point where if he can pull through and get this team to the playoff's by willing the offense to score on drives like yesterday, his franchise QB training will be complete, then comes the part of honing skills to incrementally improve to SB winning caliber.

His run during the drive to the final touchdown showed me incredible desire and ability when the game is on the line.  Yes, he has heart and skill.  Maybe some things to learn, but, he is looking like the real deal to me.

He is developing nicely.

He seems to be measured on a stricter scale than most young QBs.  It seem like many "experts" in the media hold him to a higher standard related to accuracy, mistakes, etc.

He just needs to stay the course.  It will take a few years before he gets to the elite level but we can win with him along the way.

I agree with this.  The kid has a knack for rising to the occasion.  It’s the little things with him that frequently go unnoticed.  Like throwing Timmy Juron to the ground on the Ravens sideline in the late stages of a miserable game last year (which caused Juron to take a roughing penalty on Allen the next series).  Like coming HARD on the keeper immediately before Gore scored yesterday.  The kid wills the team to win.   A lot of guys would have wilted yesterday after all that went wrong - Yeldon’s horrible fumble, Josh’s lazy fumble, and the pick.  But the kid stood tall.  He is a winner.

On that keeper to the one he looked determined to score but...........He did not expose the ball by extending it to the goal line.  That is an instinctual thing to do but very wrong unless it was a 4th down play which it was not.

I think this play has been lost in all the deserved attention Dawson Knox's steamroller catch & run has gotten.  But my goodness that should have been a 10 yard loss instead Allen somehow gets out of the hold of 3 D-lineman and runs for a 1st down into the red zone.  Coming so soon after the awesome Knox play seemed to ignite the Bills O-line and the stadium.

The Knox play gave me confidence we would get the tying FG but worried that Cincy would then go down and kick a winning FG at the end.  Allen's run gave me confidence that we would score a TD go up by 4 and the D would hold.

I do agree but when our OC lit  into him after his int I didnt know if he was going to bounce back. He looked distraught.  But then a couple drives later it was as he said," hey wait a minute! Im Josh Allen and we are the next SB champs. We can do this." And they did.
