His perception is irrelevant.  It was a stupid play by the entire D.  Would have been a unusual call to say the least, but they happen.  Lucky.

No it wouldn’t happen. Because before white got up, the official had blown the whistle and was signaling “stop the clock”... you can clearly see it on TV.

whats he supposed to do, lay there until New England gets to town next week, even though the official blew the play dead?

still not enough...the officiating in the league is just bizarre. At the very least RUN FORWARD.

Again Im not saying Tre did something wrong EXC for not 100% realizing that the reffing in this league

can be horrible and corrupt at times/.

so he gets up and runs forward. And then what tosses them ball and the refs say he was trying to advance the interception. Jesus really people

Because he was on his back for a few seconds.  Had he gotten up quicker, was man point...

Well also because players were celebrating with him when he was on the ground.  In other words, every single fact suggests he gave himself up before running back.

especially considering the wretched luck of this franchise !!!! Whether it is the Music City Miracle, or the J. P. Losman Fumble (against Jets) or McKelvin's  Kick Off Return fumble with 2 minutes to go against Brady or the MN meltdown against the Cowboys !!!!

The whistle blew and the clock had stopped though it seems many here and at least the Bungles coach missed that.  If he starts running forward, any other Bungles that didn't hear the whistle or just feel like taking a cheap shot get their opportunity.

That play, in the new NFL, always gets blown dead.

And on Allen's fumble at the end of the 1st half, the Bungles were out of luck too regardless of whether the guy falling on the ball recovered it before going out of bounds.  The side judge thought Allen still had the ball when he stepped out of bounds & blew the play dead before the Bungle grabbed it.  Once the whistle blows the play is over.

Not necessarily... If there's a clear recovery, that can technically be overturned.

Not after the whistle blows.  Ever since that Broncos McCauley fiasco they teach the refs not to blow the whistle until the play is definitely over.

Now, the ball cannot be advanced after the whistle. But you'll notice there was actually a whistle blown on the John Ross fumble yesterday.

I’m all about keeping the game tough, getting rid of BS penalties, etc. But forcing a guy who knows he just sealed up a victory wait on the ground to be hit by an opponent who just lost the game doesn’t seem safe. He gave him self up. And the ref clearly waved the play dead.

The only reason anyone is talking about this is because the Bengals' coach apparently either doesn't know the rules and/or wasn't paying attention and starting gesticulating like a moron.  But why anyone would question Tre's football intelligence is my biggest question.

That little "chirp" was from the crowd.  When a play is stopped, the refs actually BLOW the whistle.  As they did as soon as Milano recovered the ball.

And as they did before the Bungles landed on the Allen fumble.
