The bold is just false. And the Jets are pitiful because they don't have Darnold, Mosley, Williams and a couple others. They will likely get them back although mono could take a while. They are a .500 team with them, and a .200 team without. They had them against us for the most part.

With respect to the Mosley absence I disagree. It made a difference on the Jets defense. It's not worth quibbling over because in my view the major reason why the Jets lost and we won was because their kicker was grossly inept. If he makes the extra point and the reasonable field goal kick they would have won that game.

Has any team in the league beaten a "good team" yet? If the first two games of the season are meaningless, how are we deciding which teams are good? I don't understand this logic at all. Usually, good teams are good because they win games against worse teams. Which teams should we beat to prove we are good? If we go 13-3 while losing to the Patriots twice and the Cowboys does that mean we aren't good?

Okay but the Jets also scored 8 points on two very flukey plays, one of which was arguably called wrong on the field. It's not like they dominated us and we got lucky because of their kicker. It was a weird game where we clearly outplayed them on both sides from start to finish but killed ourselves with unforced errors and bad bounces. We had 23 1st downs to their 17, 370 offensive yards to their 223, and a  50% 3rd down conversion to their 41%. We had 4 turnovers to their 1, which came on the last desperate play, and still beat them in their house. I have no clue if the Jets are garbage or mediocre or pretty good. They've played one legitimate game and it was against us.

Honestly the only problem I have with his list is that the Niners should be in our category, other than that and the obvious lack of watching any 2019 Bills games he's not wrong on how he ranks the 2-0 teams imo

I think the 9ers are more fools gold than the Bills. I think they will go 2-4 in their division (losses to Seahawks x2 and Rams x2). The Bills should go 4-2 in our division. The 9ers offense is probably a little ahead of ours and our defense is ahead of theirs.... but if I had to pick a team of the two to make the playoffs and maybe win a playoff game this season I'd pick the Bills. We have the easier route.

Well behind Luke Falk and without Enunwa for the year the suspended tight end and an injured Mosely and Q they are not very good.

But other than the tight end the others Darnold, Enunwa, Mosely and Q all played against us. The problem for the Jets was always depth cos they loaded up and big contracts. They have caught the injury bug and have a tough schedule early. There are a bunch of winnable games for them late but I don't trust Gase to have held it together that long and it might be a tire fire by the time they get there. But they were a legitimate competitive team when the Bills played them.

He was wrong by a long shot while talking about Allen’s inaccuracies. But most of that isn’t wrong. We played 2 teams that are bottom of the league right now and probably won’t change throughout the year. Their coaches and teams aren’t very good. We should have beat them. We did. Great. Let’s not get crazy about anything yet.

The terrible thing is, if we win this week and go 3-0 we will still hear this for the most part. People will be saying the Bengals aren’t any good either. And you can not argue with facts. They will be 0-3. Of course, then we’ll go up against the Pats and probably lose like we always do. Then the talk will come back down, and media will say... see, we said it all along, the Bills haven’t beaten anyone yet and it’s no shock they lost against the Pats.

One game at a time.1-0 each week is part of this years mantra, may not be a bad idea for the fan base to follow as well.

I never said any team dominated the other. A lot of fluky things happen in games. However, what I did point out is that what tipped the balance to our favor was their kicker missed a chip shot in the PAT and a routine field goal kick for a NFL kicker. (The kicker was quickly released.) That was the difference in this game. In the next game the Jets got demolished by Cleveland. I'm aware that their starter didn't play but injuries are an inescapable part of the game.

As I said in prior posts I not sneering and diminishing any win under any circumstances. As a Bills fan I'm not in a position to do so. But what I am not going to do as many others are doing is inflate what we have accomplished so early in the season.

The XP was made up on the 2 point conversion later in the game. So give them those 3 points if you want to take away every flukey play. But in that case also take away Feliciano's taunting penalty and add 3 points to the Bills score. Take away the fluke pick 6 and take 7 points back from the Jets. Take away at least 2 points from the Jets for the safety. Maybe more - their only offensive TD came after the safety when the defense was worn out and they started on the 40 yard line. You could conceivably argue that every point the Jets scored was a fluke, if you want to play that game. You could do this in every football game.

I don't think anyone here is overrating what the Bills have done. They're 2-0. That's not an all world record but it is what it is. Before the season most NFL prognosticators had the Jets over the Bills, mainly because of Darnold over Allen. A couple posters in this very thread thought the Jets would have a better record than the Bills, and those same posters are now claiming the Bills beat a bottom feeder team. The narrative on the Jets hasn't changed that drastically. They were a solid looking team until their QB got mono.

I agree the Giants are a bad team that we should have beaten and we did. The Bengals are a bad team and we should beat them too. That's how the NFL works sometimes.

FWIW the Football Outsiders DVOA playoff odds gives us a 45% chance of making the playoffs right now:

I think that's fair to say. I think we are a 50/50 team to make the playoffs. No one would confuse us for a Super Bowl contender but I'm not going to ignore what we've done on the field so far because of a single missed field goal.

Twice

probably 3 times as we would almost surely need to beat them in the playoffs on our way to a perfect season, and that's how you escort Brady out of the NFL and grab the attention of the nay sayers.

Bills will have to beat the Patriots* in order to get any respect.

No even if they do win some will say it was fluke, did not count since they lost linemen, distraction due to POS Brown, etc.

Seeing as to how both of our wins this year have come against teams that were worse than us last year (let that sink in for a minute), it's not unreasonable to wonder if we can beat good teams or not.  I know I have had the same thought myself.

But beating teams you are supposed to is what good teams do and Buffalo teams of the past have NOT DONE, so I am encouraged.
