Now that Daboll has seen what Singletary can do under pressure, expect more run calls to loosen up pass coverage.  Im really looking forward to Sunday :)

Daboll is a New England guy and he isn’t afraid to call plays in a way most won’t.

If we heard NE ran 13 passes or runs in a row, it would get mentioned followed by an explanation of how brilliantly unorthodox it was.

Daboll is giving future teams more to chew on as they game plan for us.

Run, Run, Pass, punt seems to be a thing of the past.

THANK GOODNESS

Not all wins and losses are created equally... A win is a win in the standings but gutting out a game where your offense gave up 4 turnovers doesn't make you a world beater.  Just like beating the Dolphins doesn't carry much weight since they're intentionally trying to lose.

On the flip side the Texans losing to the Saints in a shoot out where both looked great carries more "power" and credit for those teams.

On the contrary, how many bad teams can lose the turnover battle by 4, on the road, and still win? The answer is none, none bad teams.

Two points:

1) Power Ranking threads are about the most distilled example of confirmation bias and the hostile media phenomenon that there are in non-political online spaces. In fact, I use these to teach these concepts to students all the time.

2) These are like the first couple of weeks of college basketball rankings in that they are largely still based on preseason rankings. If they keep winning, they will climb.

and the Lovable Browns ? dropped from 7 to 17.

A man can dream:  What if we beat the Pats and are undefeated at that point?  I doubt they would rank the Bills number 1 in any case, but would be wonderful anyways

they will opine 10000 ways to keep the Pats above the Bills.

KC only dropped from 1 to 2 because of the headcase AB.

It is my opinion a proper ranking s/b by Wins / Losses and not who's butt you like to sniff

Not really big into the power rankings but NFL.com did a decent job and write up IMO.

Quote

Previous rank: No. 23

What a comeback by the Bills, who wiped away a 16-point deficit and stole a game in which they lost the turnover battle, 4-1. Credit goes to both an uncharacteristically blitz-heavy pass rush that never allowed Jets quarterback Sam Darnold to find a rhythm and to Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen, who shook off two fumbles and two interceptions in the first half to lead Buffalo to 17 unanswered points on three consecutive drives in the second half. Allen's go-ahead touchdown pass to John Brown with less than four minutes to play was a perfectly placed ball that showed off touch that Allen didn't always exhibit as a rookie. Allen didn't do it alone: Rookie running back Devin Singletary looked special, piling up 98 scrimmage yards on just nine touches. The Bills have a core in place to make some noise right now.

Our O line will be better next weeek as Morse has more time at C with Our guys and Allen

I could care less about these stupid power rankings. Whether we are ranked 1 or 32 it doesn't matter. Great organizations never look past their next opponent. We have to treat the giants As if they are the best team in the league.

No the team does.  We dont effect the outcome at all unless they are at home or someplace we have a large representation.

We would definitely have lost that game in the past.  It's an improvement we're getting better.

Seems fair.

We should've have won the game, but we gutted out a win & showed some serious resolve.

Granted the Jets aren't the most formidable opponent, but a win is a win. And our defense showed some SERIOUS badassery, and if they stay healthy, will be a scary unit for any team to face.

And despite the offensive playcalling seeming pretty bizarre with wanting to only pass the ball for half the game, the plays they ran were actually pretty good. You can see WR's getting open, getting separation, and really challenging the Jets secondary. Allen hung on to the ball too long most of the game, missed some open looks, and obviously turned the ball over way too much, but the plays themselves weren't stupid.

That being said, we DEFINITELY need to run the ball more. The more we can put on Singletary  & the less focus on Allen, the more successful we'll be.

This is 100% wrong. I found the play calling fantastic and refreshing. It worked and will continue to work. The Bills are finally in the 21st century

That's not the point we were discussing... But you're correct. Still doesn't mean we should be higher on power rankings.  We should be comparing the Bills against th rest of the league not against the ***** teams we've seen in the past.

It was week 1 how do you compare teams when you dont really know who each team is?

I honestly don’t care about these because we’re a small market team no one cares about until we start consistently winning

BUT

NFL Live right now.

“Who in the bottom third of the power rankings will climb out?”

Ryan Clark - Bengals and Jets.

Jets!?  Huh?

We dominated their offense and their defense survived off bizarre turnovers as our offense moved the ball all game.   Their points came off a deflected pick six, questionable safety and corresponding offensive series that started at the 40, also aided by a roughing the passer, off said safety.

But yea, the Jets certainly warranted that respect...

If they beat the Browns they could climb out but they will likely fall back in the bottom 1/3 in the subsequent weeks.
