AB asks Raiders to release him on Instagram (update: Raiders oblige and release him)

This guy’s act is tedious at this point.

It just goes to show that all that coachspeak about “no distractions” only applies up to a point. Talent wins out in that race if you got enough of it.

Ship this guy to the XFL he belongs there.

Well, apparently AB went to the right team. I’m not sure how many other teams would put up with this, especially from a guy who hasn’t even played s snap for their team yet and just got out of a messy “divorce” with his previous team.

Gruden doesn't seem to care that AB has very quickly made the Oakland Raiders into a drama filled reality TV show.

Brown is off his rocker. Not Incognito off his rocker but he is off his rocker none the less.

I didn't know this but apparently they're teammates now. What the hell is Mayock thinking with Brown, Burfect, and Incognito on the same roster?

Is there some sort of weird curse on this franchise that just makes their coaches/Ms/Owners do insane things one after the other?

Recording phone calls (private convos) is illegal in California, no?

Let alone posting them on social media.

*consults legal team*

Cal. Penal Code § 632

(a) A person who, intentionally and without the consent of all parties to a confidential communication, uses anelectronic amplifying or recording device to eavesdrop upon or record the confidential communication, whether the communication is carried on among the parties in the presence of one another or by means of a telegraph, telephone, or other device, except a radio, shall be punished by a fine not exceeding two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) per violation, or imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year, or in the state prison, or by both that fine and imprisonment.  If the person has previously been convicted of a violation of this section or Section 631 , 632.5 , 632.6 , 632.7 , or 636 , the person shall be punished by a fine not exceeding ten thousand dollars ($10,000) per violation, by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year, or in the state prison, or by both that fine and imprisonment.

(b) For the purposes of this section, “person” means an individual, business association, partnership, corporation, limited liability company, or other legal entity, and an individual acting or purporting to act for or on behalf of any government or subdivision thereof, whether federal, state, or local, but excludes an individual known by all parties to a confidential communication to be overhearing or recording the communication.

(c) For the purposes of this section, “confidential communication” means any communication carried on in circumstances as may reasonably indicate that any party to the communication desires it to be confined to the parties thereto, but excludes a communication made in a public gathering or in any legislative, judicial, executive, or administrative proceeding open to the public, or in any other circumstance in which the parties to the communication may reasonably expect that the communication may be overheard or recorded.

Question is "Is this illegal in state where he made recording?"

One assumes AB was still in Cali when he recorded it, but you never know with that guy. If he was in Cali, yeah it’s a 2 party state.

Which he is.  He reports to Gruden, which is now obvious.  He’s a scout, that’s it.

Then why was AB angry at Mayock for the fines? If Mayock reports to Gruden then Gruden obviously OKd them, if not actually authored them himself. Why shoot the messenger?

I think Gruden's trying to figure out how Tomlin handled him to make him the most consistent and productive WR over the last eight seasons.  There may be this feeling that once the regular season starts then AB will get down to business and dominate on the football field.  We'll see if that's the case.  I doubt it but we'll see.
