What have the Democrats done in the past Four years

NEW YORK SUN: Susan Collins’ Profile in Courage: A Historic Battle Is Underway in Maine.

As the Democrats vent their election year fury on Justice Brett Kavanaugh, they are pouring a fortune — millions — into a campaign to defeat Senator Susan Collins of Maine. They are blaming her for Justice Kavanaugh’s confirmation, which the Senate’s most distinguished woman secured in the extraordinary speech announcing her decision to back the Justice.

Go for it, we say — it’ll only help Ms. Collins. That’s because attacking the Senator over Justice Kavanaugh will draw attention to, in her speech, one of the great teaching moments in the history of the Senate. At the time we called it “more than a profile in courage.” On top of that, we said, it was a “profile in substance.” The Maine Republican met the Democrats’ demagoguery with reason.

What riveted us at the time was what we called the senator’s “fidelity to fairness.” She declared that the confirmation process had become not only “dysfunctional” but also “a caricature of a gutter-level political campaign.” She laced into those who’d declared against Judge Kavanaugh even before the hearings, including some who had declared against him before his name was even announced.

The gutter-level campaign launched in the Senate against Justice Kavanaugh, though, had nothing like the nihilism of the attack just launched by the New York Times. The best deconstruction of it that we encountered is the National Review’s piece about what the Times turned up — hearsay by an accuser about an accusation the victim isn’t making from two generations ago.

Crazy and mean is no way to go through life, but it’s the approach the Democrats have chosen.

MOSTLY, THEY DID IT TO THEMSELVES:

Brett Kavanaugh Breaks the Democrats: Do Democrats not see what’s happening?

No, they’re too blinded by hate:

“The strained efforts by politicians and media outlets to insist that the absence of evidence against Kavanaugh amounts to an indictment of his conduct and character has split the Democratic Party, unified their opposition, energized Republican voters, and sacrificed the credibility of the left-leaning news outlets that dedicated themselves to the promotion of a perfidious narrative over the plain and simple truths of the case.

It’s a testament to the impenetrability of the bubble in which they operate that Kavanaugh’s harshest critics don’t seem to recognize how badly this is going for them.”

Arizona Democratic Party will hold vote to censure Sinema.

“The Arizona Democratic Party is planning to hold a vote this week to determine whether Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) should be censured. The Arizona Republic reports the censure vote is due to the fact that progressives in the state Democratic Party see her as too accommodating to President Trump and his policies.”

During the election she was pitched as a moderate aisle-crosser.

Nobody meant for her to actually be one.

Sinema should switch to the Republican Party. After all, she is a switch hitter.

DOES THE LEFT SUFFER FROM ODS (OBAMA DISAPPOINTMENT SYNDROME)?

by Steven Hayward

Last week I gave a talk at the California Club in Los Angeles ,I opened with the old line attributed to Edna St. Vincent-Millay that “history isn’t one damn thing after another—it’s the same damn thing over and over again.”

It is not a new theme here that Democrats are going through another “McGovern moment” like they did in the late 1960s and early 1970s, when their lurch to the hard left resulted in a 49-state landslide loss to the hated Nixon in 1972, and left Democrats in disarray really until Bill Clinton came along in 1992. Is this pattern repeating itself? I think it may be.

Remember that a lot of voters Democrats lost in the late 1960s were working class moderate liberals who were appalled at the lurch liberalism took toward indifference to crime and disorder, moral equivalence in the Cold War, and especially the deterioration of the public schools, which coincided with the most hated liberal policy of all: forced busing. A lot of “white flight” from the cities occurred among Democratic constituencies. And now Kamala Harris wants to bring busing back it seems.

This is preface for the most interesting part of liberal writer George Packer’s widely noticed recent Atlantic essay, When the Culture War Comes for the Kids.” The article details his dismay at the identity politics/standards-shredding orthodoxy that has overtaken New York’s public schools under leftist Mayor Bill de Blasio. (Is he still a candidate for president, by the way? I’ve lost track. . .) Packer here sounds like a late-60s liberal who is about to move to a New York suburb for better schools for his kids.

Worth reading the whole thing if you have time, but the interesting part to me begins in section 5, as it tracks with a theory I first hatched in conversation with Charles Murray back around 2015 or 2016, namely, that the left had descended into a rage because things hadn’t gone according to plan under their “lightworker,” Obama. Think of it as “Obama Disappointment Syndrome.”

So she goes both ways?

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Murdered at least three addicts.  They should have used that battering ram on his balls. Then the Dems could give him a Purple Heart to pin on his purple *****.

https://www.nbcnews.com/feature/nbc-out/kyrsten-sinema-makes-history-first-bisexual-member-u-s-senate-n935816

Nearly one week after Election Day, Democratic Rep. Kyrsten Sinema was declared the apparent winner of Arizona’s nail-biter of a Senate race. In addition to a win for Democrats, Sinema’s hard-fought victory also adds to the spoils of the so-called rainbow wave that ushered in a record number of LGBTQ political candidates this year.

Sinema’s high-profile win is particularly historic. She is the first out bisexual person ever elected to the U.S. Senate and only the second openly LGBTQ person, behind Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wisc., who is a lesbian. Sinema is also the Grand Canyon State’s first female senator and its first Democratic senator since 1995.

The Propaganda of the Left Is a Weapon of War

by Karin McQuillan

Original Article

The hallmark of propaganda is that outright lies are more useful than the truth.

The New York Times’ vile lies about Justice Brett Kavanaugh were so flimsy, they couldn’t last the day. Yet even after the Times’ correction (which amounted to a retraction), Democrats kept shooting the fake ammunition.

That’s because their target isn’t actual investigations or impeachment proceedings. The lie itself is the goal. Once out, even if retracted, it serves their purpose: to smear and intimidate. Truth need not apply. The more outrageous, ugly, and frightening the propaganda, the more powerful it is. That’s all that is necessary for success. The lie doesn’t even have to be plausible.

This Will Totally Destroy Trump!
(Volume MCXXXVII)

by Kurt Schlichter

Original Article

“Well, ________________ is going to totally be the thing that lets us crucify Trump! Yeah, Russia flopped and his alleged Nazi-ness failed and that weasel ex-lawyer/convict of his struck out, but we promise – this time, ___________ is going to bring him down!” So saith CNN, the Times, the gang at LonelyNeckbeardedLeftistLoser.com and the rest of the cabinboy media, along with the carb-curious Fredocon dorks and the surviving furries, pseudo-Cherokees and other assorted Democrat weirdos currently wandering about in Iowa pestering farmers to join them for selfies. There’s always a new _____________, except the “bring him down” part just never seems to happen.
