and this is why we are one of the dumbest organizations in football

this team takes 1 step forward and 3 steps back. Beane and Mcdermott will be fired in 2 years for having a bottom 3 offense

Still say they should have taken Miles Sanders but let’s hope Singletary can play.

It’s not a surprise that the Bills cut running back LeSean McCoy. It is a surprise that they did so without trying to get him to take a pay cut.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the release of McCoy came “out of left field,” with no attempt by the team to get him to take less money.

they wanted the roster spot.  keeping Wade?

way to disrupt the locker room right before Week 1 for absolutely no reason other than saving a few million

what a ***** joke. We already had one of the least talented offenses in the league with Mccoy now we basically have a bottom 5 offense again.

You mean they could get a draft pick for Russell Bodine but not for Shady?

It’s a terrible contract unless you think he’s still an elite back. I hoped Houston might have bit in a Clowney package. I suspect that may have been why we didn’t see the cut sooner.

ive been saying for months he’s got to go because of it. It was common sense that you can’t pay him top 5 money for anything but elite production. Especially with a stable of serviceable players.

I assume Gore and Singletary are safe, probably Yelden too.  No news on Perry, but with his special teams usefulness, the Bills may well keep him.  All that could change if Saquon Barkley gets released by the Giants and nobody else picks him up, but I'm not expecting that to happen.

Wow. Very shocked by this. Can't believe they weren't able to get any value for him.

Too old to be making that much $. If we were shopping him, and it looks like we were, any interested team figured we'd release him. Now they can sign him cheaper and no loss of draft picks.

Guess if the right offer was made, Beane would have pulled the trigger - he clearly isn’t shy about dealing...

Bummed to see Shady go, but clearly the staff felt it’s time.  Good luck Shady! ✌?

Dunno. That would’ve been 2017 and he was so integral to the offense at that time it’s have been tough to lose him. That was the year we made the playoffs with Tyrod under center and the offense ran through him.  Kinda like Zeke in Dallas right now.  It would have meant the start of a tear down and rebuild. The Bills went the other way.  It happens that way sometimes and doesn’t work out.

I loved Shady's attitude when he was with the Bills and he was a fantastic teammate who helped mentor and support players on the team.  He had some really productive years and was definitely a big reason we made it to the playoffs.

With that said he definitely had lost a step and with the emergence of Singletary and Gore/Yeldon combo to fill in the void and the freeing up a substantial amount of cap space, along with Bodine departure the Bills are in great position to pounce on some potentially good players who will be cut or available.

This is the right move. The Smart move! It’s unlikely he would have much of an impact during the season for what he was being paid. Most of us will forget about him halfway through the first quarter of the Jets game.
