Of course he could....but why risk it in a game that means nothing?

He was injured all last year.  They rested him and (imo) wanted to give him some game action while it didn't count and see how he responded.  If he sat all preseason and got hurt week 1 it would be that he was rusty and should have played some this preseason.

Remember guys and gals, Cam is a human being too, all pro athletes talk trash,, it appears he’s a good guy in the town he lives in, so don’t take the media tweets at face value, they are all out of context. But don’t stop busting his balls, he represents the enemy... ?

Go Bills!!!

Allen flexes after he scores, I love him!!! Cam does it, he’s a d bag and I’m glad he’s injured.  Dudes who are getting upset about trash talk are nerds who never played a sport in their life.

some folks here hate cocky black athletes.

I like Cam's personality, he's fun and good for the league. I'd like him more though if he was more gracious and less sexist. That said, I'd much rather have everyone else on the list above as a co-worker  (except for Rodgers, that would be torture).

Jameis Winston?  I wouldn't mind hearing your reasoning for liking him more than Cam...

I’ll never understand the Cam hate. Living in Charlotte, seeing him around and in local media he is a super personable, fun guy. He’ll end his career in the top 25 all time for passing yards. He went to the SB. Oh, he also wears crazzzzyyyyy hats and has opinions. Get him!

He's a conceited loud-mouth ####### who isn't remotely as good as he thinks he is.

Just curious - do you appreciate his "opinions" regarding female sports beat reporters trying to ask him football questions?

Correlation does not equal causation. Get out of here with that fifth grade logic.

The example DOES argue strongly against the notion that giving your starters live action preseason work is a BAD thing though.

Comparing Allen's off-field behavior to Newton's is not even attempting honesty.

And what did he show? that he's human? that he's not infallible to emotions? where's the pile on for every other losing QB in the SB? they blew it and didn't bomb in front of the cameras, so they're...better? players are allowed to have personalities that don't conform to everyone else. i just see a lot (A. LOT.) of people go out of their way to hate Cam and it's not a coincidence.

What is it then?

I wonder about perception of Cam and how much of it has to do with media coverage. Pretty much every year Cam will go out of his way to do something to visit children in hospitals, feed the homeless, etc...and it doesn't seem to be from a "this will help my PR" attitude, but rather that he enjoys helping people. When Cam says something dumb it goes viral, when Cam does something good, maybe 5% of the posters here know about it?

This leads me to wondering to what extent posters here have a narrative of Cam that they're not interested in changing versus how much Cam is presented as arrogant and unsympathetic by the media with little to no coverage of his altruistic side.

I remember reading on reddit someone mentioning that when Cam lost the Superbowl to the Broncos his reactions were deemed immature while two years later when Brady lost to the Eagles his extremely similar actions were chalked up to the fact that he's simply a competitor and it does make me wonder to what extent there is a double standard here.

You don't?  He's been a loud mouth douchebag who pouts the moment things go wrong his entire career.  Zero class.  Not to mention one of the most overrated players in recent memory.  His career passing yards are almost exactly the same as Andy Dalton's.  True legends of the game!

Brady screams at his coaches, it’s passion.  Rodgers does the title belt, it’s cool.  Cam does the same stuff, he’s a douche bag.

There were also a lot of Bills fans who didn’t love Stevie either.

I like Cam way better. I was saying who'd I'd rather have to work with and Winston seems like he'd be easier to get along with in work atmosphere. Cam would be exhausting & in need of constant attention, and Rodgers would be the toxic guy playing office politics at all times. Brady/Manning/Allen all seem like they'd be easy to get along with in a professional setting.

Of course emulating the most dominant team in the leagues processes is a no go for some...?

Go Bills!!!
