I don't agree, we have a say in our government and it protects us from foreign threats. This is very different. The Chinese army would laugh at citizens armed with what really would be nothing more than pop guns against armor. AKs and AR15 might be good for massacring unarmed people out trying to have fun, but against an organized army, they are almost nothing

Everyone should be calm and safe? Thanks Donald. I hope he is doing more behind the scenes, but really, we do not have that much pull.

Tell that to all the soldiers and marines that went home in body bags in vietnam, iraq and afghanistan

Most of the casualties in those wars were caused by bombs. But, if you want guns to turn our country into a war zone than I'd say we should get rid of those guns before you guns totally f::: our country up.

You mean surrender our arms so hardcore Leninists like you can enact a total Communist revolution.

Be honest, man. All you people want is power. The only real hurdle you have is an armed populace.  Which is exactly why the founders instituted the 2nd Amendment. They knew damn well there would be a day like today with totalitarian thugs like you prancing around.

The power is in voting not guns. Your thinking is addled. Yes, we want power, and will get it, but you won't be harmed. Heck, you will even get free medical care if you need it.

Andrew Jackson said something very similar  right before the trail of tears.

Pretty well. Have you ever been to an Indian Casino?

Lol, yes that Senaca casino!

I believe that the Seneca signed the treaty of Buffalo Creek right about the same time of the trail of tears and "choose" to go to southern tier of NY without a war.

Hong Kong and Taiwan  are in big danger from China . Who  will stop them ?

Taiwan isn't in much danger. Any move by China on Taiwan would lead to war which would wipe out all the gains China's made in South China Sea.

Hong Kong is a different kettle of fish because of the agreement.

The United States -- and China knows any direct confrontation with the US it will lose. Badly.

i dunno. the chess board has changed a bit since WWII. with today's technology, i don't believe there would be any winners in a confrontation between two giants. there would only be losers.

Of course  US nuclear power could destroy China . What would the economy of the world look like after that ? Since they supply so much  consumer goods.

Probably not.  It would be a pretty anemic war.  Neither country has sufficient ability to project power enough to truly threaten the other.  The only exceptions are China's dependency on oil imports (not too difficult to interdict, and the reason China's been building a blue-water navy), and nuclear weapons (which exchange nobody is winning.)
