Any move by China on Taiwan would lead to war which would wipe out all the gains China's made in South China Sea. Hong Kong is a different kettle of fish because of the agreement. Probably not. It would be a pretty anemic war. Neither country has sufficient ability to project power enough to truly threaten the other. The only exceptions are China's dependency on oil imports (not too difficult to interdict, and the reason China's been building a blue-water navy), and nuclear weapons (which exchange nobody is winning.)
