This place is quite biased against non-homers.

No it really is not....your points just need to be logical

The farm boy pretty much had the most rich boy summer of all time. This stuff is getting silly at this point.

Then why did Tom "Deflated Balls" Brady, Bill "Tape Your Practice" Belichick, and Robert "Cheat on Girlfriend with Prostitute" Kraft win yet another ring while we are stuck doing mental gymnastics justifying losing year after year?

Character and work ethic are two different things. Talent and work ethic are really all you need, everything else is just to make you feel good.

So your assumption is that because he didnt work on his families farm in the past year (or even the past years since he away at college) that coming from a farm is to be downplayed?

How about coming up through a JUCO.....how about the 1000 inquiries he sent out trying to get a Div 1 scholarship and only getting 2 bites?  Is that being overplayed as well?

You should know by now that this fanbase has a fixed percentage of permanently miserable whiners and rear-view-mirror guys.

You know the kind. Never happy with what the team does.

I'm actually more surprised at the amount of personal sniping and hairsplitting going on here.

I had to go over to PPP just to take a break from it.

It blows my mind.

Considering the amount of success the franchise has had, how does anyone have the gall to complain Joe? It really is amazing....

You're confusing people who complain with people who ONLY complain no matter what happens.

You know who we're talking about.

Keep it up with your negativity and knocking of Buffalo and there'll come a time when you can't escape, MacGyver.

I'm already stuck in Buffalo on account of family. Should have left right out of university.

What gets me is that it's the eve of training camp.  One would think even the most cynical could find some hope.

Oh well.

What does hope have to do with football?

Well, that’s what we do here, isn’t it? Speculating this entire century could be the motto of this place? WTF is your real point?

I stated my point. Twice. It was a pretty simple concept to grasp. Not sure why you want to be a d*#k; however, if that makes you happy - by all means, carry on...

Cheers...

I respectfully disagree. There is a significant cabal on the boards who almost reflexively take issue with most of the Bills’ moves and/or roster quality, yet have not been banned or barred from expressing themselves however they please. The fact that any opinions here are subject to push-back is hardly a sign of bias—make rational arguments supported by facts and citations, and let good discussions flow from there.

Good discussions, great. Cyber-bullying, uncalled for and a sign of weakness on the bully's part.

Stop it.  You know you're not being bullied just as much as everyone else knows you're a troll.

Try to be better at it.

More sarcasm from you. I don't really know what to say. I'm not a troll; I never have been and never will be. I truly have no idea what I ever did to irritate you and DaBills so much. Seriously.

You are a sad person. You spend hours each day on a message board that isn't your team's and I imagine that you spend even more time on pornographic websites getting freaky with watermelons and cantaloupes that you "MacGuyvered" together to resemble some semblance of a woman.

Cyber-bullying exhibit A. I bet you wouldn't say this to his face in person.

It's super cute that you thought I was being sarcastic.  Hehe.

You should have had the balls to return to Canada where you can debate the greatness of the Argonauts.

As a fan of my hometown football team for over 50 years I "hope" they do well at the beginning of every season.

I'm starting to think a lot of members here feel that is foolish.  If you are one of those our opinion of sports probably differ.

If that is true for you the best I can say is, "May this upcoming season give some sort of joy in your life".

Go Bills.

Kind of an odd statement from a Bills fan. You'd think most Bills fans would appreciate the value of blue collar lunch pail farm boy types.

Blue collar lunch pail farm boys don't retire at halftime. They don't let their mouth do all talking and walk off the field in a huff because they didn't get enough attention during a game. They don't ignore a kid looking for an autograph, and they don't take days off. They know half an effort is no effort, and they know everything works better when everyone works together. And they know how to lead and be leaders.

So, y'know...yeah, accuracy...but accuracy minus solid core and work ethic = backup QB.

Blue collar people generally don't drive very expensive cars, vacation in exotic places, live it the most expensive parts of town, make millions of dollars and retire in their 30's. It's a silly description by people that think if you work hard you must be blue collar or vice versa. I used to know some 'blue collar' workers in Buffalo that called in when they weren't sick, milked hours, slept on the job.... it's a myth that blue collar is always something special. Every color collar has it's good and bad eggs.

there is a difference between constructive criticism and being flat out negative.

I gather you're intelligent enough to know the difference.

There is. But how can fan criticism be "constructive"? The team aren't reading it.

There is a cohort on this board intolerant of anything negative whether reasoned or otherwise.

I would have taken Darnold had he been available. I thought it was very interesting that he didn’t balance that talk a little more, knowing he worked with both and it would get back to them. Maybe there’s some balancing talk I missed? All things considered, encouraging stuff!

Yeah, he started off saying "Darnold is going to be EXCITING.  Mayfield is going to be EXCITING.  Allen is INTRIGUING"

So I think if you listened carefully, it's balanced because he's like "Darnold is there, Mayfield is there, Allen ...it will be "intriguing" to see if he's there"

At least that's how I took it.
