It doesn’t mean Cooper isn’t a very good receiver. And your assertion that Cooper didn’t help Dallas much last year is laughable. He averaged almost 100 yards receiving per game and played very well in two playoff games. The team was 3-4 without Cooper and 7-2 with him. Passing offense went from 180 ypg to 250. Your continued harping on his "average" YPG completely avoids the point of this discussion---he doesn't bring it every week like a top 5 WR should. He's unquestionably over-rated (well, by you at least). I have already explained how the Raiders viewed the two differently (Cooper--sporadic performer not worth the massive pay he would soon be seeking..... and a top pick in return) and Mack (massively talented player who for them had far more value in the picks he would bring). dezertbill Posted August 12, 2019 Share Posted August 12, 2019 (edited) QB's with at least 400 passing attempts in 2018, Prescott ranks 13th in QB Rating, 15th in passing yards, 9th in Completion %. $30 million per year he turned down would put him as the 6th highest paid QB in the league. Per Jackie Slater, his $40 million demand will hopefully gain him a $35 million per year contract, which would tie him with Russell Wilson, Tom Brady who have the richest deals, and surpass Ben Roethlisberger and Aaron Rodgers. That's 10 Super Bowl Rings, vs. a guy with 1 playoff win. Those 4 QB's earned their $30+ million per year contract with at least one SB ring in their pocket. Greed is ugly. They went from 14th in points and scoring to 22 in points and scoring. They scored more points on fewer plays over the season 2017 v 2018. Although they did skyrocket from 26th to 23rd in passing with the addition of Cooper...lol Julio Jones?? That guy has had at least 1400 yards the past 5 seasons! His WORST career season with at least 14 games is better than Cooper's career BEST season. LOL--Julio Jones! You might have well have pointed out that Jerry Rice had a few games under 50! What a ridiculous comaprison. "It happens"? Sure does--in Cooper's case: in 64 career games played, he has had 35 or fewer yards 24 times--38% of his outings have been duds. Compare that to Julio Jones who has had 13% over nearly twice as many career games. Cooper did not average "close to 100 YPG" with Dallas. With the playoffs, he had 896 yards in 11 games. That's 81, which is not close to 100. He had 3 games over 100 yards out of 11. 56% of his yards came in 3 games out of 11. 56%! He averaged 49 YPG over the other 8 games.
