Bills defensive scouting report on the NY Jets Oct 7th 2001

Recommended Posts

Have you got one from the Miami game in December of 2016, the one that the Dolphins used to plan for the Bills?

*

‘Head Coach will inexplicably be seen consulting multiple coloured pamphlets on the sideline.  Originally thought to be playbooks, our scouts have discovered they are restaurant menus.  A large, bearded and unkempt assistant coach is often seen grabbing these, and looking intently at them.  Buffalo will occasionally field only ten players on defense, in order to confuse opposing offenses’.

I like that the “#1 key thing to win” is three bullet points with subsections... including we must know we can win as the top thing ?‍♂️

while they might be smart X and O football guys, dumb stuff like that really makes me question how well they actually could run organizations.

Its funny cause the gameplan was basically to stop Curtis Martin and after 200 pages of game planning he still ran for 135 yards and 2 TD. How does a player not get totally dejected when you put in all the work for the week just to get a loss especially on a losing team year end year out. How do you not start to question if the coaching staff is competent enough to win.

The "keys to the game" were cringe-worthy.

I thought the ‘Rex Ryan Scheme’ was getting fired in the second year of a five year contract, then spending the next three years treating your brother to dinner at ‘The Hungry Heifer’.  ?

Just like every teams plan is to stop Tom Brady...hows that worked for the last 20 years? Just because you have a plan doesnt mean its going to work. The other player could just be good enough that it doesnt matter.

Or you just have sucky players and coaches. Can go either way.
