Report: Pats have discussed Kyle Rudolph trade

There’s no way he ends up with the Cheaters if he’s looking for the money from them that he’s demanding from the Vikings.

Why? They paid gronk big money. And Rudolph should welcome a te friendly system where he could cash in next year with a big season

this was yesterday.

The Minnesota Vikings tight end could be player the Buffalo Bills are interested in acquiring after recently losing one of their own tight ends to an injury.

Minnesota has even offered Rudolph a five-year extension, but the two sides have yet to agree on any sort of new deal.

Since no new contract has yet to be signed, the tight end could technically still be available in a trade if the Vikings get an offer they like.

One team that may now be interested in Rudolph’s services is the Buffalo Bills. The Bills recently lost tight end Tyler Kroft for at least three months thanks to a broken foot and the Buffalo News’ Jay Skurski thinks that Rudolph could possibly end up as his replacement on their roster.

Gronk was actually under-paid.  And far better than Rudolph. Then throw in the draft pick.

he was not underpaid compared to other tight ends. he averaged right at 9 mil per the last four seasons. that's on par with top tight end pay

You are correct.  But Rudolph wants to be paid near the top, which is even more than Gronk made. And again the drafts pick.  It’s going to be hard for them to trade him without getting very little in return for him.

Do you know how many Comp picks they have?  If the pats trade for him, give him a raise for just this year and let him walk they probably get the Comp back

If they can’t get a deal done with him or another team for what they want, they’ll probably just keep him for the year.

report is they want a fifth.  if the pats trade for him, give him a 3 mil raise, let him walk and he signs a big deal the pats probably get a comp pick back right?  the pats probably have like 3 next year anyways.

If all they want is a fifth then they probably have quite a few suitors.  But what does a fifth round pick in 2020 do when they could probably get a third round comp pick in 2021 plus his services for the year?

I  would love for the Bills to trade a 5th for Rudolph. I think the TE position is a mess. You have Kroft who is hurt and I think will start the season on the PUP. Behind Kroft you have Lee Smith who is a blocking TE more of niche in 20% of offensive snaps. Knox a very raw rookie who will likely need a year or two before he can be a starter, and then a mishmash of players like Croom (who wasn't that impressive) and a 7th round pick in Sweeney.

Rudolph would instantly upgrade the weakest position on the team at a fairly modest price and make life for Josh Allen easier. You can PUP Kroft so that he can come back and be healthy as a TE2 (Put Smith and Knox behind Rudolph and Kroft) or at least you don't have to get desperate at TE with Kroft.

Overall I think the Bills would be fools to not trade for Rudolph if the price was modest.
