Who are worth developing, not sitting at the expense of a guy who is 38 and retired, and is coming off 2 straight years of declining production.

2 years of declining production?  That's McCoy.

Anyway....devlopment? Then why not pick up a guy like Watson, dump the two bums from Cincy (one isn't even a TE!) and go with the rookies.  Or, if Kroft has any potential to be other than a jag, dumps the Crrom, the BC kid and the 2nd round O-line bust guy and roll with Watson, Kroft and the other rookie?

They need somebody who can play TE out there right now.  Watson catches everything he's thrown and produces when he's put out there.

McCoy is already on the team.  And he's far likelier to see an increase in his production at 30 than Watson at 38.

And JAG defines Watson at this point in his career, not that he was much more for most of it, averaging 420 yards/season.  And who has he developed?

If I wanted the Bills to take a flyer on an older TE, I'd have gone after Jared Cook.  You know, the guy who replaced Watson.

Players don't "develop" other players.

McCoy will need a police escort to increase his production at this point.  True pro like Frank Gore is gonna steal his carries.

We'll see about that.  I'm know you're hoping.

What about Singletary?

I think he could be really good.  Rookie RBs have been tearing up the NFL lately.  But he will be stuck behind these two old guys and Yeldin.  No chance.

It's like the Bills are looking at what's going in the league and saying, "nah we're going the other way",

If they prove to be washed-up, he'll get a chance to play.  As for Yeldon, I'm not so sure he makes it.

And what's going on in the league?  Going back to the running game?

Rookie RBs are being plugged in and doing fine.  Because it's the easiest position on Offense to pick p for a gifted runner.

I heard on the radio speculation that Singletary won't even be listed as active for games early on.  why draft a good RB prospect and have not 1 but 2 dinosaur RBs on the roster.  And  some random 3rd jag?  makes no sense.

Not a big deal.  It's unlikely both Gore and Shady go off the cliff at the same time.  And if they do, Singletary plays the next week and beyond.

And I'm hoping Singletary shows enough in the passing game to make Yeldon expendable.

They won't suit up 4 RBs

Probably not.  But again, if they go into a game with Shady, Gore and Yeldon (because Singletary hasn't supplanted him) active and all are hurt and/or ineffective, you activate Singletary the following week.

Former Saints’ TE Benjamin Watson, who had intended to retire, is in New England today visiting with the Patriots, per source. Watson also is considering the Chiefs, Bills and 49ers. His retirement didn’t last long.

Oh, yeah.  You know, because...life.

Younger at TE is good but older at RB is better. Ahhhh man some of you guys are going to twist yourselves into a pretzel if this thing goes sideways.

I know Gore is old but he’s still a beast. He will tear it up and run over linebackers. I can’t wait.

How does a rookie who is not activated for games “supplant” anyone?
