Everything you have on Browns under and Bills over

By Kaelen Jones

April 29, 2019

Coming off an encouraging 2018 season and an eventful offseason, the Cleveland Browns have emerged for many as a chic playoff pick in 2019. However, one Las Vegas sportsbook is suggesting to slow down the hype.

The Westgate's SuperBook released odds for all 32 NFL teams to reach the postseason. The Browns are not favored to make the playoffs, according to ESPN. In fact, they were given -120 odds to miss the postseason for a 17th straight season.

Cleveland has not made the playoffs since 2002. Last year, the Browns posted a 7–8–1, which marked their highest win total since 2014.

Just bet the Bills and the Over

Leave the CLE line alone.

So increase by half a win? I think it was at 6 before.

Don’t talk about it, be about it.  Show us your betting slip.

So you’re not that confident?  And I will never bet on the Bills unless they make the SB.  Then, I bet on the other team so it’s a win win.

Yeah - I'm with you.  Don't bet on your team.

Where's Joe to tell us we would be at 8.5 if we drafted DK?

Before I was too much of a homer and wasn’t objective.  Unless it’s the SB, the Bills winning was enough.

I think the Browns hype train is overrated.

So I’ll be putting a large wager on the titans +5.5 week 1.

Whenever I go to book to place it, I’ll send it to you.

Big odds are the bills taking the AFC east.

12 or 13 to 1

will this the year Brady’s slow start stays slow?

As I understand it, setting odds is less a prediction about the teams for which odds are set, and more about Vegas' opinion of the sentiment of the betting public.  The goal here is to have roughly half the betting money come in on the under side and half on the over.  In essence, Vegas doesn't think the betting public has a real high opinion of the Bills' upcoming season, which should be no surprise.

It’s amazing how this concept cannot be grasped by so many here.

Betting on a season is foolish. Sure, I feel the Bills will win 7.....as long as they remain healthy at certain positions.

There is an excellent argument against this. Simply put, it’s that there is so much money bet by professional gamblers who look to exploit mistakes that even if the lines are initially inaccurate they quickly become accurate due to those large, unbiased bets.

BTW, i have a question for folks who have played win totals before( as mentioned I do not)..can you cash the ticket as soon as the bet hits over or the under is guaranteed? That ticket says event date 12/29/19..if the Bills have 9 wins December 14th, can the dude cash the ticket for his Christmas money?

The second you win, you win.

A few days ago the NY Post listed the Bills odds of winning a Super Bowl at 100 x 1. There were very few team with bigger odds. The ones I remember were the Bengals and Dolphins but there were a few more.

hmm, man the expectations on the Brownies are huge this year.

I have no no clue if this works for prop bets like this, but typically outside the Pats if ya fade the public it’s a good idea .

The correct answer is that you have to wait for the end of the season, even if the bet went over. At least in Vegas. ALL of Vegas. I would assume online books are the same.
