The trade value chart says a move up to #34 would cost pick #40 plus our first 4th round pick #112.    That seems like a good value to get a guy you really want rather than taking a chance that someone will snag them first.

I watched the draft with my one of my brothers, a die hard SF fan.  He said something along the lines of the 49ers met with Metcalf, and there was some sort of verbal argument or something.  I know nothing about this, other than him saying the 49ers will not be drafting him because it a verbal altercation 

 

 

edit: I did a quick search and found this article that doesn’t have details, but mentions something about the interview and DK learning a lesson from it.

My hope for tonight is DK being one of the picks, along with us drafting 3x in Round 2 & 3 combined.

 

We filled a ton of holes with solid players in FA... No reason to hold onto picks after the 4th Round.  If you like a guy, go get him.

I’m actually on the outs here as I really hope they don’t take metcalf.. Just don’t think he’s going to produce much for this specific team and won’t make any impact this season. Long term maybe he’s a star but for me anyways I would rather get someone who can make an impact now and still have potential to be a star later. I’d rather grab a tight end or linebacker or even offensive lineman before taking a receiver

I actually feel completely different.  I think he could be meh on some other teams, but shine in Buffalo with Allen's arm in a vertical, big play offense.

If the Bills moved up in the 2nd to get DK I’m fine w it, but there’s plenty of good talent there at 40 too. I really want Sternberger...I know he might be a lil reach at 40 but you never know, I knew Tytus would go in the first, it only takes one. My bold prediction was the Bills find a way to get Oliver, Risner, and Sternberger. I’m sticking to it.

Even with the offseason moves my belief is this is still a run first and often team. Until Allen shows consistency I don’t think McDermott is ready to have him throwing 30+ times a game. Which makes receiver not as important yet. On this team this season I would be shocked if metcalf could get 2 targets a game. Not much to work with for a rookie.

Of course I could be completely wrong on the offensive philosophy going into this season. 

I would expect next years draft they could target the #1 receiver available though if Allen shows vast improvement

Taking a guy like DK in the 2nd...I think its ok to gamble.

 

A miss for a 2nd rounder is not the end of the world if you hit with your 1st.

DK became a media sensation due to the combine.  He would be a good pick if the Bills remain where they are and he is available.  He becomes another deep threat and can play contested balls with his size.

I wouldn't give up too honestly, there is still some REALLY good WR's left and a few will be there at 40.

 

We still have:

 

DK Metcalf (4.33) (Can make incredible 1 handed catches, also have focus drops)

Parris Campbell (4.31) (can have focus drops)

AJ Brown (4.49) (great hands)

Deebo Samuel (4.48) (great hands)

Riley Ridley (4.58) (great hands)

JJ Arcega-Whiteside (4.49) (great hands)

 

More than half met with Buffalo over the summer, top 3 guys were projected 1st round picks

As big a DK fan as I am...I think it's also important to point out Hakeem Butler is still on the board as well...And he's a real special-type WR...

 

I would love to see DK in Buffalo, but I certainly would not mind seeing Butler as well...?

I didn't want him at 9. That's too high to take a guy with his potential risks.

But at 40? Yes. Yes all day. He's EXACTLY what our WR corps needs.

That's fine, we can take Taylor or Risner and really shore up that offensive line.
