Of course!!! Breaking a table = know how to pick a biometric lock, Vulcan neck pinch the bored security guards on duty and get away with those wonderful polymers, ala Mission: Impossible music plays in the background...you’re very welcome McBeane, now go make it happen and protect our franchise’s right shoulder!!

But how many polymers do we need?  Can we carry all of them?  Should I bring a backpack?  Should I bring a six pack?  Can I MAKE either of those out of the polymers once I get there?

We need at least as many as Gronkowski boasts in his cyborg elbow club...I have a feeling that would help provide us with an unfair advantage :D

I love Allen.  I love the kids moxie.  I love his skills.  I love his commitment.

That said I would very much prefer if we found a way to keep his body in a bubble of some sort, I don't know as I am not skilled in these things, maybe a space age polymer or possibly a large amount of silly putty...which may be a space age polymer.  Again, I don't know what a polymer is, let alone a space age one.

I just want him kept there until September.

...I am not a greedy person.

I've got an idea how about we freeze him in carbonite then just thaw him out when we need him.

I can't imagine that either team would allow their QB to do this.   It's a terrible idea due to injury risk.  Although there is some sort of mutual respect brewing between JA and Mahomes that is fun to watch.

Injury? Mahomes literally throws deep passes in the offseason for fun

I bet Josh Allen does the same

I know this is unpopular, but I’m used to that. ?

Both of my sons placed in the HS state weightlifting championship in Florida. Not South Dakota, but extremely competitive Florida. Tossing deep passes is different from maxing out. You save maxing out for extreme situations, not for fan entertainment, or even charity. I’ll give to charity to avoid the (minimal) risk.

I know people might ridicule this, possibly including the two QB’s involved! I just see maxing out as taking a risk. I heard guys from the combine say they could have done better at the 40, but it wasn’t worth the risk of injury. Obviously, part of that is self serving, but part of it is true.

Again, I realize how minimal the risk is. Any unnecessary risk is too much risk. That’s just me.....

It's not like they don't throw as hard as they can in games or probably even in practice. They might not be trying to throw as far as they can but on some of those lasers they've fired they're probably in the ballpark for as hard as they can throw it just doesn't have a long ball trajectory.

I wish this would happen less on screen passes.     ?

I know my position is unpopular and in the minority. I play some things safe, and this is one. One of my sons got hurt trying to max out on a clean and jerk before the championships, and it cost him dearly. Crushed it on the bench, inability to practice clean and jerk (which is mostly technique) set him WAY back. Unnecessary max out hurt him. This could be a “me thing”. I admit it.

If Allen and Mahomes don't understand the difference between maxing out and being competitive, they won't be long in the NFL anyway...

Cool.

But that makes no sense.

The only way they compete here is to max out on distance. Not worth it in my opinion. Most will disagree, and I can live with that. But at least I understand the point. I don’t mean that in a derisive way, honestly. (At this point.)

If Allen is dumb enough to hurt himself in a meaningless charity competition, he was never going to make it in the NFL anyway.

Look at RG3. He was having a phenomenal rookie season, got hurt, then returned too early in a playoff game and ruined his career.

Garoppolo ruined his season (career remains to be seen) by pushing for an extra yard on a scramble and shredded his knee.

Players that do not understand where that line is (between maxing out and being competitive) get seriously injured and do not last in the NFL.

Yup.  From day one you could just tell that he comes off as a nice, likable young man, but there is just something about him that says inside, he is a cocky SOB that believes he can do anything better than you.

And you know what?  That is exactly the kind of persona and attitude I want want my QB to have.

I am not convinced Allen will pan out, but this analysis of his attitude is spot on. Awe shucks with the media. This is my field between the lines.

That attitude could conceivably differentiate him from other QB's with similar issues. There's definitely hope.

based on measures I’ve seen Josh may have the strongest arm the NFL has ever seen.

Mahommes would lose

Yep. And in the measured velocity tests, Allen threw 62mph to both the left and right, a combine record. Mahomes was a full 7mph slower at 55mph in both directions at his combine. And I don’t recall exactly who the sports science guy is that conducts his tests, but Allen set a record for fastest recorded arm speed as well. Something like 74mph.

None of that means Allen would automatically win a longest throw contest, but the physics involved show he has a distinct advantage.
