What failed the first time?

40 hour work week?

Paid vacation?

Paid holidays?

Overtime pay?

Employee funded health insurance?

Retirement benefits and contribution to Social Security by employers?

All of these and more are being rolled back by Big Tech and the "gig economy" was my point.  Private contractors can work as much as they want.  They don't need paid vacations or paid holidays or overtime pay either, right?

You see this as progress or in any way better for a Joe Schmuck worker?

What failed was their Hoover type policies.

Sorry... What I meant was their attempt to keep the clock turned back.  There was an original "Firster" movement in this country.  What failed the first time was their attempt to counter the New Deal.  Counter progressivism.  That's where they want a mulligan.

They want a do-over w/their conservative anti-progressive model.  Look we even have tariffs! Wow, what a shock.

I fail to see why any of this should be the burden of an employer.

Further, would those working in the gig economy be better off or worse off if their job didn’t exist?
