Nice try HAHA Gator. Trump responded in exactly the proper way. He said he'd listen to what someone had to say and determine if it was worthy of reporting it to the FBI. You asswipes on the Left are consumed with building new mountain ranges out of mole hills and nothing burgers. The frenzied hysterics that consumes the swamp people and their servant MSM with such all-consuming TDS would be totally laughable if you idiots didn't actually believe theshit that comes from your mouth.

He is a criminal who thinks like a criminal. I suppose Trump University was an honest attempt by Trump to educate people, lol. You think that?

Federal Election Commission Chairwoman Ellen Weintraub released a statement Thursday making clear that candidates for public office may not receive help from a foreign government, in what appeared to be a warning to President Trump, who said he would consider taking information about an opponent from another country.

Tweeting her statement, Weintraub wrote, “I would not have thought that I needed to say this.”

The head of the agency responsible for campaign finance laws clarified that any campaign that accepts help from a foreign government “risks being on the wrong end of a federal investigation.”

“Let me make something 100% clear to the American public and anyone running for public office,” Weintraub wrote. “It is illegal for any person to solicit, accept, or receive anything of value from a foreign national in connection with a U.S. election. This is not a novel concept.”

Fair question. All of it would depend on circumstances and what was traded. Stolen emails, or hacked info, would count. The way they did it with Russia was through a third party, "I love wikkileaks"

"of value" in the legal sense in this law might mean something of monetary value or a promise of a political favor.  It might not mean "dirt" or information or evidence.  I don't know, we'd need a legal interpretation.

And for the record Mueller and his crew looked very hard at the Wikileaks thing, no charges to Trump or his campaign people regarding the email dump.  That happened independent of Trump according to the investigation.

According to Andy McCabe though, it's OK for campaigns for Americans running for office to hire American companies to hire foreign individuals and pay them to find "dirt" on political opponents.

They looked hard for a reason. That they could not establish a conspiracy--i.e. get enough proof to have an iron tight case--doesn't mean there wasn't a connection between Russia stealing info, handing it over to Assange and having Trump activly promoting it. All a coincidence I tell you

In addition, it is also 100% crystal clear and irrefutable that when a candidate does not receive anything of value from a foreign government, if the candidate is running on the Republican ticket he/she can absolutely expect that he/she will be investigated, that the freedom of his/her business associates and family members  are in peril, and that no stone will be left unturned in an attempt to ruin him/her and his/her associates and family members through doj/congressional/media mob overreach.

Why didn't the arrogant and condescending civil servant include that in her propaganda release?

Weintraub is also formerly a partner at Perkins Coie -- the cut out between the DNC, Clinton Campaign and fusion GPS who paid millions for ... Wait for it... Foreign intelligence to interfere with the election.

How much longer will she be head of the FEC? Tick tock.
