Mike Edwards - S - Kentucky

Sort of a safety corner tweener with the way he was used in coverage. They used him a lot to cover slot receivers in zones and he’s able to play some press. I’m curious to see how he times, but the kid has a knack for being around the football. As it stands now probably 4-5 round prospect. The gem of that secondary is Lonnie Johnson.

Watched him vs Georgia and then vs Florida on YouTube. Heck of a pass defender.  Run support looked weak but not for lack of effort.

Definitely worth a day 3 pick. Not sure if he’s highest on the board in the 4th but definitely in the 5th. Give him some time in a weight room and his run support might get a lot better. I also agree on the poyer  comparisons although poyer  was a cb in college not a safety iirc.

One thing also in the Florida game he dropped a pick; the next play was a first down he wasn’t involved in but he looked dejected presumably because of his drop. Think McBean would really like him.

Looks good to me!

It isn’t brought up much but I am fully expecting them to take a safety late. We need help on special teams and with 10 picks you can justify it. I think they will take a LB too, maybe sooner than we expect.

We have one of the best tandems in the NFL in safeties, and I didn’t think Hyde or Poyer were that old in that Poyer is 27, and Hyde is 28.  I guess if he’s a possible late pick for depth it makes some sense.  What makes more sense is more depth on the offense even after we use free agency and the draft high picks for offense.  I can also see taking a lat DT for depth behind Phillips.

As a UK fan I've seen a lot of Edwards. He's a playmaker and he's relentless. Think he will be a solid pro. Actually would like for the Bills to look at a couple of other UK kids. I think C.J. Conrad has a chance to be a nice tight end in the NFL. He was under utilized at UK. Also I think Bunchy Stallings would be a nice late round offensive line pick up. The corners from UK that are projected to be drafted I'm not as sure about. They all have good size but I'm not sure they can cover well enough.

Thanks for the insight!  How do you think the RB Snell, JR. would fit on the Bills?  I've seen him at various places in various mock drafts.

Would love to get this kid.  Could be a solid backup then starter.  We need safety depth.

Snell was a great college running back. Tough as nails and a leader. I'm not sure if he will be able to do the things professional teams ask of their backs today with regard to the passing game.
