The facts are that outside of Denver in the AFC everyone is around 0.300 as a winning percentage against NE or worse. Miami actually has the next best record in the AFC with 11 wins in 33 games versus Brady. The Worst teams are the Bills, Cleveland, Baltimore, Cincinnati, and Houston with a winning percentage of around 10%. The truth is NE beats everybody - it does not matter what division or where the game is played. You move NE to the AFC north and nothing changes - AFC south same domination. AFC west if they replace Denver - the winning percentage is nearly identical to what the AFC east sees. Denver with a 6-7 record versus Brady in the Regular season and 3-1 in the playoffs for and overall record of 9-8 and are the only AFC team not to be Brady’s female dog. Logically your argument would make sense if the Pats struggled against the rest of the AFC, but were getting home field throughout because of the AFC east teams, but they are averaging 13 wins with Brady so on average they are going 5-1 (0.833) versus the AFC east and 8-2 (0.800) versus the rest of the NFL and that is with them playing two additional AFC teams that were top seeds the year before. In the previous 10 years NE had a .615% against teams that made the playoffs. Also, they played about 1 less game on a yearly basis against other teams that made the playoffs than most other playoff teams did. The AFC East has been a launching pad for the Patriots. But yes, the Pats have had very good teams and obviously have beat most teams. The Patriots haven't won Super Bowls because of the AFC East. They've simply had an easier time getting to the SB because of being in the AFC East. Jets haven't been in playoffs since 2010, Dolphins have only made playoffs twice in last 17 years, and Bills only once in past 19! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I do think, however, that the rest of the AFCE has been highly QB deficient for a ridiculously long time and it remains to be seen if any of the other teams (Bills, fins and jets) Have found the right guy. I love the thought of Darnold and Allen regularly battling it out for 1st place in a few years, while the Pats look up from the cellar going through one QB after another in the impossible quest to replace Brady. In a way, I hate that we have been so incompetent for 2 decades and have been incapable of giving the mighty Pats any kind of challenge in that time. But in another way, it was perfect timing to be inept. They would have always won the division regardless.
