The bolded guys are the one's I'd focus in on as not sure Jordan wants to be a coach. Jim Bob has some ties to Daboll from their KC days and he did some good things for Matt Stafford.

Anderson or Palmer seem logical.

Might do Allen more harm than good to have someone totally new put a fresh set of ideas in his head or try to tweak his actions.

Josh has done well to get through his mentoring period with Peterman.

They left out ‘quarterback whisperer’ Mike Leach!

Just as well - Leach already makes more money than McDermott, and he’d want to be Head Coach anyway.

From SI: Why Is Everyone Hiring Mike Leach Disciples Instead of Actual Mike Leach?

Quote

Leach  is rarely top of mind in these situations. He’s not devastatingly handsome. He’s not young. He has very strong opinions about weddings and live mascots and other things that aren’t third-and-nine. He may work until 2 a.m., but he also may not come in until 10 or 11 a.m.

If this flavor of the month in football becomes the flavor of the year and remains en vogue, it’ll be interesting to see what happens when the coaching carousel spins again. Will the game keep seeking out some more polished, more boring version of Mike Leach, or will it seek out Actual Mike Leach?

Yeah, I posted that article on the College Football board.

The fact remains, and the author’s point is, instead of hiring from the Leach coaching tree, why not “go right to the wellspring?”

Why not hire the “Actual Mike Leach  (AML)”?

I coach with one of Lazor's old college buddies; was even in his wedding. He seems like a pretty smart guy that I woudn't mind having at 1 BD.

I wouldn't be surprised if they go after Palmer though.

Played QB at Cornell and was on Jim Hohfer's staff at UB which is not on in the body of his Wikipedia bio.  They do have it in the offset to the right.

Good article, and thanks for posting it Yolo.

Pretty much all of the guys mentioned are either intriguing, or quite possibly genuinely worth looking at. Seems like there's a decent choice out there, going off of that piece.

But Shane Waldron has breathed in the air McVay exhaled.  I do like Cooter though.?

A new QB Coach Candidate?

Just heard this on OBL Murph and Tasker show:

Jake Peetz, Offensive Analyst Alabama 2018.  Was QB coach for Raiders and was Josh McDaniel's candidate for Colts OC role last year.

Colts: 3 things to know about Jake Peetz, who could become offensive ...

Isn't Alex Van Pelt available?

I don’t think so. As far as i know he was retained by the Bengals unlike some others. Bills could still request interview, esp given the coaching transition taking place there, his job security would be in question

Hofher was QB when I was at Cornell.

One of my best friends was recruited by George Seifert.

I’m pretty sure I’m much older than you, unless you played for Bob Blackman.

What years did you play for the Big Red?
