ESPN's MNF contract expires in 2021.  The Broadcast networks expire in 2022.  DirecTV's stranglehold over Sunday Ticket also expires in 2022

Don't expect any resolution until after the TV deals are worked out and the Players and Owners know how big of a pie they have to divvy up

The union negotiates a contract every 3-5 years where I work. They always prepare for a strike even though one hasn't happened in 26 years. Better to be safe than sorry. I wouldn't read too much into this.

The current refs could not be worse. I’d rather watch a game with no ref.

The current refs are infinitely better than the scabs. 5 horrible weeks expedited getting the pro refs everything they wanted.

It can always be worse. It was worse.

Tons of money at stake so it would be little surprise if people want to fight over it.

It doesn't help that the people doing the fighting are the sort who are not happy with $3.9 billion.

They want $3.9 billion and 10 cents, if they can get it.

They also think they are taking it with them to the next life.

So there you go.
