So why is this happening? because JA looks at deep throws first? well maybe but maybe its because they are not getting separation early on routs or maybe our OC is calling WAY TO MANY DEEP PASSES!. Doesn't the rate of witch a QB throws deep passes effect a passing %? I just find it interesting. Now lets compare this to Mahomes chart https://nextgenstats.nfl.com/charts/list/all/kansas-city-chiefs/season/week/patrick-mahomes/MAH401939/2018/15/pass Other then the amount of throws look at the percent of deep throws to 10 yards or less? 29 throws within 15 yards or less, 6 throws over 15 yards? Now here is Rogers throws on a GOOD GAME! I have kind of the opposite feeling you do so to speak... I feel like they hardly ever take a shot on 2nd and 1 or even 2nd and short and it should be a great time to take a shot because if you don't make it its still 3rd and very short. Yesterday we seemed to really be pressing the deep ball too much. I mentioned to a friend it was if a drunk Bills fan was calling the plays. I'll be interested to see where Josh ranks this week in ave time in the pocket. For all the heat our oline takes, Allen had lots time on a bunch of throws yesterday. It was nice to see. They are probably trying to keep everything in front of them. Where as with us, until Foster came along, they probably had little fear of our passing game and figured they could jump a route at some point for a pick. In other words they are probably playing close to the line of scrimmage and daring us to throw deep. If Allen keeps hitting Foster for big gains like he has you will probably see defenses change to take that away and then there will be more short passes. What I liked is he seemed to make better decisions yesterday. There was a pass attempt (incomplete) in the middle of the 3rd when he scanned the field for like five seconds and was eventually chased out of the pocket to the right. He keeps his head up the whole time trying to find someone and eventually throws it away. The replay showed the coverage at each step, and legitimately there was no one open the entire time.
