...they keep him around until 2020 for a less painful "out"...no one takes on his remaining $62 mil for 2019-2021 unless a GM doesn't value his job......

Potential Out: 2020, 4 yr, $80,500,000; $8,000,000 dead cap

Agree, Yeah think they either keep him or cut him but don't see another team picking up the contract.

Raven's fans are going to be sad. Jackson is never going to a top end NFL QB.

He’s the kind of QB who has a little success early but unless he tranforms his game dramatically won’t have sustained success.

Thats the nature of the running QB.

Not always. Russell Wilson is a running QB.  So is Cam Newton.  Both have been very successful.  Jackson just doesn't have anywhere near their talent.

Griffin is on the roster. It is a good situation for the organization because they can have an offense geared to both players. Griffin is not going to be sought out by any other team to be a starter. So the wise move is to stay with the Ravens and if Jackson gets hurt or struggles he would be the next man up.

I think TT is a better backup than RG3, and he has experience with Greg Roman who is in their coaching staff. RG3 is a fringe level backup and TT is a fringe level starter, given lamar’s playing style being high risk for injury I would think that they want someone solid back there.

Washington

I was going to mention that one

If it’s a trade I don’t think their cap situation would accommodate him but not sure what the dead cap is for Bortles of cut

Bortles just re-signed and has a 16.5 million dead hit next year.

JAX is really hurting next year.  MD is probably gone.

JAX also a good team to sign FAs from!

I think they stick with RGIII

I would think Giants if Eli is gone. Jacksonville and Washington if he will play for cheap cause they may have problems paying what they owe on Bortles and Smith (if Smith will count against the cap).

If the Giants keep Eli, I wonder if they go for Foles and give him a guarantee that he takes over after Eli.

Cap hit is 26 million next year, 28 million in 2020. So the obvious landing spots would probably be precluded by the salary cap unless he seriously renegotiates. If I'm him ... why would I?

Nope- you are counting his signing bonus on that. Actually is 18 and 20.

which isn’t crazy

The Redskins and Jaguars make the most sense

Denver seems to like trying out a new QB every season, but they've already got a bunch invested in Keenum

The Saints or Giants maybe, if Brees or Manning retires

My darkhorse is Miami

I think saints like bridgewater in that scenario

miami, was my curveball.

If going off script maybe Big Ben retires?

Isn't it too early to judge a rookie QB?  I mean that's all I read on here basically.

I thought Washington but they are really stuck with Smith 2 more years. They are in purgatory for a minute it seems.

I saw somewhere that Alex Smith could be an injury settlement and the Skins might make a play for Rodgers?
