NOTEBOOK: Lions Suffer Multiple injuries in Arizona

txmyerfaei4zlyw2cwvu.jpg

Detroit beat Arizona Sunday 17-3, but it came at a cost.

The Lions lost talented rookie defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand to a knee injury and veteran defensive end Ziggy Ansah to a shoulder injury just three plays apart in the second quarter. Both players were helped off the field, evaluated in the medical tent and then carted off the field to the locker room. Neither returned to the game.

McDermott's Monday Presser at 4 PM ET.  We should hear injury update news on Milano (foot/ankle), McCoy (hamstring), and Ivory (shoulder).  They might have to add a running back to the 53. Daboll and Frazier to follow at 4:30.

Will post live Twitter and Facebook presser links as they become available: Buffalo Bills Video Live

Just now, SoCal Deek said:

If we’re playing another meaningless game against the Lions it must be August already. Time to break out the shorts and tank tops. I hope we put both Leinart and McCarron back out there for at least a quarter.

The annual preseason tilt against the Lions has ended.

Quick Hits: Making up for the loss of Matt Milano

sn9hcrkbtysrux01qzhf.jpg

The Bills lost one of their top playmakers on defense Sunday when Matt Milano suffered a broken fibula that required surgery on Monday. Replacing him as a three-down player won’t be easy for the team’s final three games.

“The good part is Matt did a really good job. I thought he really grew this year. We’ll miss him. We look forward to getting him back in the offseason,” said head coach Sean McDermott. “(Replacing him) will be by committee. We’re still working through that. We’ve got certainly Lorenzo (Alexander) could fill that role and some other guys with respect to Deon (Lacey) and Corey (Thompson) and potentially Julian (Stanford). So we’re still going to work through that.”

McCoy and Ivory are day to day LeSean McCoy and Chris Ivory were two other casualties in Sunday’s loss to the Jets. McCoy left the game after just a few plays with a hamstring injury. Chris Ivory left in the second half with a shoulder injury after landing on it with all his body weight at the end of a running play.

Both are listed as day-to-day.

Tank-Tank-Tank!  0-3 sounds good to me.  Take a page out of Sabres book, tank to close out this year, then win 10 in a row next year.  A loss to Detroit is a great beginning.  Our D is close.  We have our QB.  Foster is coming around.  Lets tank, get some impact players, and contend next season.  Sing it with me- T-A-N-K! TANK! TANK! TANK!
