Hmmmmm

Either people arent being truthful, or they are very easily swayed.

This would be a VERY lopsided poll in the other direction last july.

I guess it fits with the league being a 'what have you done for me lately ' type situation.

I like Allen. I like his moxy. I also remember scaring the crap out of my dogs by yelling so loud after the allen pick that they didnt come back into that room for a good hour after the fact - both that they didnt get to #2 and they picked the wrong josh. My wife was a bit more positive however. As i said then, he is now our guy and itll be fun to root for him.... but if i felt that way then im not sure 7 starts should do much either way...

Last July, I would bet  fans would vote for Darnold 24 hours ago.

at this point neither..  Josh runs and occasionally throws an accurate pass. He has a LONG LONG way to go IMO

when he throws consistently and averages about  200 yds a game then I will START to believe in him

Predraft I had them Mayfield, Allen, Rosen, then Darnold.

Too many people didn’t take it serious enough when it was brought up that Allen had absolutely no one to play with at Wyoming. You can’t develop a QB when your line and receivers are that bad. Unfortunately he’s had to deal with a lot of that in the early part of the season with the Bills.

I was never a fan of Darnold and would have been upset if we had ended up with him. When the Jets took him, they cheered, and I smiled. He is a turnover machine. He was in college, and he is a turnover waiting to happen in the NFL. Nothing will change with this guy.

We have some winners (Drew Brees it is)... Early stats don't necessarily point to how well a player is going to play.  Peyton threw 28 pics his rookie season.  Let the next few seasons play out and then come back with the question.

IMHO, Josh Allen was always about the long game. Darnold may have been a bit more NFL ready in terms of pedigree, but I think Josh Allen's potential is unbelievably high. To me Drafting Josh Allen was the equivalent of taking a real, unbroken stallion and turning him into one of the lite race horses of all time. It takes hard work, patience, dedication to the craft, and a refining ability to hone in on the talent and intangibles that can make him great. It also takes a nuanced comprehension that really NOBODY knew / knows if he possesses in that the ability to read and adjust to an NFL Defense pre-snap.

Somewhere on the internet, a.k.a. Twitter-verse, a comparison was done of all the collegiate starts among the top 10 QB Rookies and Allen by far had the fewest. So he was the most raw, with the least exposure but with the greatest potential. IMO, the remains true. It will be a few years before we know what Josh Allen truly is or is not, but as of today with the progress I've seen, I'd take Allen for all the reasons listed above.

If I were a team like the Ravens or 49ers, probably Darnold. Darnold is more NFL ready in total, or a year ahead in his development, but I just think if Allen puts it all together, we have the makings of one of the best QBs, and certainly the best Bills QB since (maybe ever) JK.

What about Darnold’s performance leads you to believe this?  IMO, there is zero actual evidence to support it.
