He's been thrown to the wolves against the toughest defenses in the league with crappy receivers who have dropped passes right to the other team. Peterman is unlucky? In that Chargers game he not only threw 5 interceptions but the Chargers dropped a would-be pick-six on the one drive where the Bills punted in the first half. He also fumbled the ball and recovered it on that drive!? The tipped throws people think are bad luck are really just poorly-placed and/or late arriving throws into high traffic areas that the defense can contest or easily create/collect a turnover on if the exchange goes poorly. These are low reward throws that just aren't worth constantly risking when the defense is squatting on those routes to begin with because they have no respect for your deep ball. Barkley doesn't have a strong arm but he's always had pretty good touch and timing on deep throws...........he was a vertical passer in a pro style offense at USC. Peterman came from a gadget offense at Pitt where his lack of arm strength and inability to stretch the field was mostly concealed. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

A guy off the street joined the team 11 days ago, and with the same offensive cast that has been all-time bad he puts up 41 points. And fans are ready to bench him so Allen can get in one game earlier. The Jets to me looked like a defense that thought they could just show up and hold the Bills to less then 10 points. You just can't do that in the NFL. The worst thing the Bills organization can do at this time is to not start Allen when he's healthy enough to go. The give Allen a year train left the station in week 2. They must have unwavering commitment to Allen as the starter until they know for sure he's not cut out for it. IMO that would be the rest of this season and all of next season. Your post is excellent. You are astute. No one is saying that Barkley is a stud qb but what he demonstrated in this game is that if the qb plays competently it elevates the play of the rest of the offensive units that include the OL and receiving corps.What a refreshing change to see a qb be able to make quick reads and then quickly respond. McDermott added speed to today's roster and it made a difference. Foster and the new player from Denver were factors because of their speed. The player who has been playing well is Zay Jones. Again, this is another example that competent qb play elevates the rest of the unit. Now that Zay is becoming more of a factor if you look at McDermott's two combined drafts it is starting to look very good. Milano is the big steal in all of the draft selections. I'm not going to get carried away with this win against the spiraling down Jets but it has left me encouraged that the plan is being executed.
