He Trumped it. Poor form/stepped on a rake but I don't agree it was a dog whistle. If it was, it wouldn't have included the whole part about coming back and teaching the rest of us how to do it. Trump's base is not racist, despite the hype. Are there racists among Trump supporters? Absolutely, as there are among the DNC's supporters (or the libertarians, or the independents, or the et al). But the percentages are tiny, not enough to move the political needle one way or the other -- but that doesn't stop the story from being blown up into "He's Hitler 2.0". The framing of it is race baiting 101 by institutions and people who have proven that they really want a race war.
