As other posters have already noted, the Bills have had a number of top 3 picks over the years and other than those great six years from 88 to 94 haven't done much with them. I personally have no faith in management to know what to do with or how to develop a top 3 pick....its a short list of exceptions (Simpson - and they tried to screw that up save for Lou Saban, Bruce Smith and Kelly come to mind). Yeah, having high draft picks is a bad idea because McD&Beane have drafted so terribly. We should win 2 or 3 meaningless games because draft position doesn’t matter. This player should have been picked , that player wouldn’t have been good in Buffalo etc. We do know that good players are found throughout the draft by many teams. Save for a franchise QB that the Bills probably won’t be picking next year , the concern shouldn’t be so much about a slot or two of draft position. It should be on those doing the drafting. I can agree, I mean if someone come draft time is a killer prospect grab him. Doesn't mean we're giving up on JA (and he hasn't made the best of his limited opportunities), JA continues to start and the better QB eventually gets entrenched. Although I'm still pretty gung-ho about trading down to some desperate team for a ton of picks and doubt there's a great quarterback to justify a QB. Darnold looked bad yet again (by the numbers anyhow) - 50% comp, 200 yards, 4 int and 4 sacks. Tough times there. The only games I'm really curious about left are the jets (darnold) and anytime JA is playing. Now, he's rushing back to get injured again. Sounds stupid. Mathematically speaking, playoff chances are near zero now. Barkley is not going to do anything here. Philly and Chicago passed on him. So.. knowing that, maybe Beane could have not gone all defense in the past draft and get offense we desperately needed and gotten his DL this draft..
