Jones still has PS eligibility? That would surprise me

I think you're right, I thought the same thing. No way Jones has PS eligibility, maybe he does it'd just be one of those odd loop holes. And what's the point? No one wants Landry Jones. He'll be sitting at home if Allen and Anderson get hurt.

Unless they're looking for someone else as the 3rd QB on the practice squad.

Bu bye Petie....

Burbridge could be the end of Holmes if signed. ST Gunner for the 49'ers, in 2016 was considered one of the best in the NFL, derailed by hamstring issues.

Good, cause I was done with Holmes last year. And everyone said the only reason he even made the team was for ST.  So far he's not been very special anywhere.

Why is Kaser a free agent? Isn't he a really good punter?

He definetly an above average punter for sure. Apparently they are blaming their kicking issues on him because he is a crappy holder.

Maybeb Bojorqz shoulder is injured.

Or maybe they realise a guy who line drives punts is a big reason why the Special Teams suck. The punter sucks. Bring back Schmidt.

They have had a series of guys go in there and not succeed as their kicker. Guys who have had reasonable success elsewhere so there might be something in the holder thing...

Hard for your gunner when your punter thinks hang time is an optional extra.

Why do punters have to be holders? If you can punt, but holding is not your thing, aren't there receivers and back QBs that could this kind of thing?

Well, if we signed him or even if we keep Bojo maybe we should just make Peterman the holding specialist since we have 3 QBs now. Would not shock me if Nate has kept his roster spot after intense private training sessions showing coach how well he can handle balls.

I really just think it is because they have nothing else to do. Since the kicker, longsnapper, and punter don't have to particpate in all of the football drills in pracrtice they can go off, be their own entity, and master the timing of the snap hold kick process. Having a quarterback do it, when he has a million other things to worry about, is probably part of the thought process for coaches when they started doing this.
