This is spot on. Did these guys really not expect bumps in the road for Allen? Did they really not realize how bad the offensive talent around him was? Did they really think that Peterman was capable of holding down the fort until Allen was ready? Every single one of these things was abundantly clear to even casual fans. How can the guys calling the shots be blind to it?!?

Im starting to feel like Mcbeane and company are lost. It is one thing to trade and stockpile picks- it is another to make solid pro personnel moves habitually. This is why the Jaguars have turned the corner- Tom Coughlin

Should have signed Ryan Fitzpatrick when he was walking around OBD for Eric Woods "retirement" press conference that never happened. :)

Fact: Fitzpatrick re-signed with the Bucs before UFA began.  There was no opportunity to sign him.

If Allen is injured they simply cannot have Peterman on the field.  They should have made this move after week 1. Better late than never.

Then they should have Hired him as a coach.

Solid move to get a veteran backup.

...3 years, $45 mil with $44 mil guaranteed should do it................

THE MORT REPORT: and glad he is a cancer survivor.......

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports the Bills are expected to sign free agent Derek Anderson.

Anderson will give the Bills an upgrade over Nathan Peterman behind Josh Allen. He went unsigned this offseason but has strong ties to Buffalo's power structure from his Carolina days. Anderson should serve in a mentor role to Allen.

Keep the QB roster as is. Save the cap space. Move forward saving the cap space and move into 2019.

Good enough.  Thanks!

Not sure I agree. Im on the need a voice in his ear on the side lines crowd.

Should have been done a long time ago. Barring injury he's not going to play. They better release Nate, too.

It's criminal to have no real QB coach, and no veteran for Josh to talk to, and no offensive-minded head coach, and an OC with no record whatsoever of grooming young QBs.

Oh, and no receivers or offensive line.

It's insane.

He is a private coach who already has worked with josh allen and improved his footwork a lot it’s up to josh Allen and the bills coaches to continue what Palmer taught him

Perfect review and analysis.  Anderson has the same type of baseline skills, big, mobile and huge inaccurate arm, all at much lower levels of talent then Josh Allen.  This is a very smart move.

Sorry for Nate, seems like a nice guy, but not an NFL caliber player.
