4_kidd_4
Where can we bet online legally in NYS? Shoulda woulda coulda, was gonna throw $50 on the Bills money line v Minny, but it slipped my mind. I’m not much of a gambler, obviously, but I’d like to do small bets here and there once in a while.

BuffaloRush made a non betters mistake. Many of us have been there, and it can be devastating. if you are betting an amount of money that is "devastating" for you to lose, you really need to get professional help. https://www.ncpgambling.org/help-treatment/national-helpline-1-800-522-4700/ (just found by quick google search)

The bet would have netted $1,000. The Bills, who were 17-point underdogs, won 27-6, the largest NFL upset in the last 23 seasons. • Shortly before kickoff, a bettor at the SuperBook placed a $9,000 money-line bet on the Vikings at -2,000 odds. The bet would have netted $450. • "That was our biggest win of the morning," MGM director of trading Jeff Stoneback said of the Bills' upset. "A ton of parlays on the Vikings, and a lot of straight bets too. That was by far our biggest game of the day." • The South Point sportsbook took two $1,000 money-line bets on the Buffalo Bills at +1,200 and +1,100. The bets netted $12,000 and $11,000 respectively. • There were 255 money-line bets placed on the Bills to pull the upset at 10-1 odds at William Hill books in Nevada and New Jersey, the largest a $1,000 wager that earned a $10,000 profit. • DraftKings sportsbook in New Jersey kept the Bills as an underdog to win the game, even leading 17-0 at the end of the first quarter. The book didn't make Buffalo the in-game favorite until it went up 24-0 in the second quarter. I dont understand why people would put up that kind of money for those kinds of returns. Why would you risk $9,000 for only $450 return? I only play $40-50 on the lotto betting we have here for sports and I usually only do $5 per tickets. I couldnt see myself ever putting up those kinds of dollars on sporting bets.

RobbRiddick
I'd only bet that sort of money if I could do it like Joe Pesci in Casino. "When he won, he collected. When he lost, he told the bookie to go !@#$ themselves"

Self destruction. I also think gambling is about the rush of risk more than the rush of winning. I'm no expert but maybe the adrenaline of seeing your life maybe collapsing becomes addicitive somehow.

I’ve got a friend who puts 10k on every Mayweather fight to win 1000 or 2. Win after win after win. I think it backfired on him when he did the same for some UFC guy.
