Von Miller Intercepts Tom Brady

This was second down rather than third but still second and long. I don't think it is a bid deal to occasionally drop your rush linebackers or ends in coverage as it can fool the QB who is likely certain that player is rushing. But yeah it should be used wisely and sparingly. I don't know how many times Hughes has dropped into coverage this year but a few times would be fine.

It just makes me shake my head. How can we be in cap trouble when we basically have no good players? Even taking into account the Dareus money we are still owe who the heck else is getting paid on this team? We overpaid a bunch of bad players? And I love McCoy but RBs really are a dime a dozen and we probably shouldn't be paying him what he is getting either. Worst team in the league and we have a terrible cap situation. Makes no sense.

You have it backwards: We have no good players because we're in cap trouble.

According to Over-the-Cap, we still have about $8 million in available cap space.  We also have $54 million in dead money.  So we're spending $62 million less on our current roster than the cap allows.  In fact, this year's Bills are the lowest paid team in the NFL.  It's hard to win that way.

Beane has been offloading bloated salaries and acquiring draft picks.  So we'll have about $90 million in cap space next year (4th highest in the league) and 10 draft picks.  And as things stand right now, we're looking at the most - by far - cap space in the NFL in 2020.

Beane's going to have enough money and picks to build a great roster over the next couple years.  Let's see if he can do it.

I got to disagree here still. When was the last time we really had nobody good at the RB position?  More often than not we had two capable backs. Not just one. You definitely do not need to overspend on the position. Money is better spent elsewhere for sure.

One good running back is not enough to last you a season.   We had only McCoy last year, the rest of our RB's were marginal players.  None of them could be counted on to run, catch and block.  Teams pretty much know what we are doing based on who is in the game after McCoy leaves.  We are in the same boat this year.

I agree with you not to tie up big money on 30 year old running backs but I do not think a good RB is a dime a dozen either.   Nor do I think that there are a lot of great backup RB's out there or else we might actually have one.

Who have we off loaded besides Dareus? Everyone else was traded or retired I thought? That $54 million is all dareus?

You don't understand the cap.   Tuhrod, Dareus, Wood, and Glenn are all killing us this year.

This is why people debate their trades, we have to pay them these amounts.

This is why AJ McCarron and Corey Coleman signings look  bad now.

This is why some people think Beane is doing the right thing, taking a huge hit in 2018 to get out of jail in 2019.

Yeah i guess not. I always figured when you traded a player all the future costs of that player transfer to his new team. That would make sense to me.

Zone sucks in basketball.

It equally sucks in football.  The quiick, accurate quarterbacks of today shred the hell out of a zone scheme like Tampa 2. Too many little gaps an experienced QB will find.

I know it's been a while since Jim Schwartz was here but his man coverage scheme is the opposite. The man coverage buys the time for your rush to get home.

Seattles Lombardi says zone can work. But if you look at the guys they’ve drafted high premium secondary guys, they can do both.

Trumane, Tre-d, Micah and Poyer can all play man if needed. Just better at zone
