Look at the situation Mahomes is in. Do you think he would be having the success he is in Buffalo right now? No. Do you think Tom Brady would be the GOAT if he was drafted by the Bills instead? probably not.  A lot of it comes down to circumstance and the team around you.

and who is resposible for the cirumstances ?

If you Factor in the descion to pass on Mahomes , the current state of the roster, the fact that they made a major investment in Allen , who is far from a sure thing, the jettisone of any player whith the slightest quirk in his personality this is the wost group to run the organization since Pollian took over.

1.  "But he passed on" arguments have been and always will be the worst message board argument for evaluation of GM.  Typically, all or most GMs (not necessarily the case for Mahomes) pass on guys too.

2.  Mahomes was as raw, if not more so, than Allen coming out.  To pretend like one was a better prospect than the other is silly.

3.  Any Reid makes every QB he touches look wayyyy better than they really are.  Literally true of every QB he has ever touched.  Mahomes in 90% of other coach's systems would be average at best.

Buffalo Bills
Draft picks: Tre'Davious White (No. 27 overall), Zay Jones (No. 37 overall), Dion Dawkins(No. 63 overall), Matt Milano (No. 163 overall), Nathan Peterman (No. 171 overall), Tanner Vallejo (No. 195 overall)
Day 1 grade: A
Day 2 grade: A
Day 3 grade: A
Overall grade: A
The skinny: Instead of taking Patrick Mahomes as the quarterback of the future, they moved down 17 spots in the first round, allowing Kansas City to make the pick. They received a third-round pick this year and a future first-rounder for the move down. Buffalo selected a good corner in White with the 27th pick to take over for Stephon Gilmore, meeting a dire need. Well done. Buffalo certainly required help at the receiver position, and Zay Jones was the best value at the spot. In fact, they thought enough of Jones to swap a third- for a fifth-round pick in the process.

They found excellent value in guard/tackle Dion Dawkins, who deserved to be picked higher. The Billsfound an excellent quarterback in round five, as Nathan Peterman should have gone a round or two earlier. Sixth-round pick Tanner Vallejo is a special teams ace and will find his way on the field on defense.

Per the "expert" draftniks getting paid to voice an opinion in 2017, the McD Bills had a solid draft with all information known/available to them at that time, and plugged gaping holes spread throughout their roster. As other posters have rightly pointed out, still way too early to draw any real conclusions about either Mahomes (one hit wonder?) or Allen (JK boom or accuracy bust?), so why don't we come back to this sometime in 2019?

And I would be remiss not to point out the Peterman shout out, lol

agreed but those teams took on all type of personalities , this group only wants process guys

You don't need to be eccentric to be talented.  I never understood why people think that being low key and a hard worker somehow means you aren't talented.

after 19 games and one draft. you bet your bottom dollar they're the worst OP.

better question though, what will be the worst thread this week?  so far it might be between you and that foreigner character. you both seem to have some real hot takes, or are they cold, like frosty cold?

edit: I see some mahomes homers, still crying the blues

don;t you think there is good reason .  He is looking like the real deal and all they had to do was turn in the card

The GM and Coach. But, this GM and Coach decided to rebuild. This GM and Coach decided to blow it up. This GM and Coach looked at a mediocre team that had gone 7-9, 8-8, or 9-7, the four previous years before they arrived and decided that with the cap hell we were in we were just going to continue to spin the tires and not move any further down the road.

Making the playoffs last year was a happy accident. In fact, one could argue the Bills were one of the worst statistical teams to make the playoffs.

It's either fire them both right now, while the team is down to the studs and allow someone else to build the roster, or back off and let them build a team. Terry and Kim decided the later. You have to let that go.

I knew we were going to be terrible back in April. I accepted that. I now look forward to watching games to see if players are getting better. Yeah, maybe this team only wins 2 or 3 games. But, if we go from being blown out to being consistently in games each and every week by the end of the season, we'll have taken a major step forward and we'll know we have the right coach in place to develop players and move forward.

Time will tell, but it's time to stop bitching about our coach and Gm and let them do their thing.

Sadly results didn't turn out as well as the writer of the article thought.  Vallejo is he still on the team.  Peterman is useless, Zay may end up being a fine number 3 receiver we will see.

There are so many candidates to choose from, picking just one is difficult.

why is it bad . there are a lot of people that think things are great .  They say don't worry we have 80 million in cap space everytihg will be fine.   I don't see it that way .

who pray tell thinks things are great?

those that think they're great are being premature and those that think they're the worst, are being premature.

it's going to take more time, whether you like what is being done or not, time will tell whether this regime succeeds or in the case of all of those in the past 20 + years, fail.

so, want to make your claim now, then hey, they failed.

(of course they failed to you because they didn't pick your boy in the chiefs uniform)

myself, I'll give it some time and have accepted that this has been a tear down and this season may be and has been so far pretty rough but I have to see what they do this next off season and draft before I start feeling like the sky is falling.

rebuilds are a B word aren't they
