All you people that hopped off the bandwagon after 1 bad game - just remember that, if/when this thing gets turned around in the coming years... no pretending that you believed in these guys if/when that time comes.

Oh, and BTW - Before he was hired, Sean McDermott had a top 10 defense 4 of the previous 5 years in Carolina. 1 year they were #2, and another they were #6and a Huge part of the reason that Carolina went 15-1 and appeared in the Super Bowl.

McDermott spent 8 years as a DC and almost 20 as a coach. He earned his way up from a scouting role and assistant to the head coach.

Same with Beane. He has almost 20 years of NFL experience in almost all aspects of running an NFL team. He started in communications, earned promotion after promotion working his way all the way up to assistant GM before earining his shot in Buffalo.

There have been head coaches hired this offseason that hardly even had any experience as playcallers, like Matt Nagy (one half season calling plays), Steve Wilks (1 season calling plays) and Mike Vrabel (1 season calling plays).

And, last thing I’ll mention - if Josh Allen works out, It will be considered an absolutely brilliant move by Brandon Beane. He got all the way from the #21 pick to the #7 pick without giving up the Bills extra 1st this year (#22), or a 1st next year.

Then he was able to trade up again and get the guy that will hopefully be the QB of the defense for the next decade+. Both in the same draft...
