Jets game proved teams are built in the trenches

Losing 47-3 will do that not really negative but we are behind making a run next year due to oline issues that won’t fix themselves in one season 3 spots need upgrading along with a couple receivers, another running back, and the pass rush...the Jets play solid d and have a stable oline they can now just let Darnold start all year learn on the job as he goes which would have been the plan here if we didn’t have multiple departures

It can all be fixed....

There is too much fixiation on what other teams are doing to improve their teams.....we need to be worried about what we are doing to improve OUR team

The most dead cap in the league.....taking that bullet this year

10 draft picks next year

as much as what....90 million in cap space?

QB in place

This team looks much better with a solid line, a couple of playmaking targets, and another pass rusher....its not gonna happen overnight...but its gonna happen.

Both lines need to be addressed next year.

Not impressed  with Star's ability to tack up blockers , we need a real 1 technique in there to occupy lineman. Dexter Lawrence would be perfect. We also NEED PASHRUSHERS luckily this draft has a bunch, here is praying we get Bosa.

We are going to need all that cap space to address the weaknesses on this team, like the whole offense besides Allen and McCoy.

The Jets are playing the loins who have a new HC that looks like a deer in headlights. We will probably be fighting them for the #1 overall pick next year.  The Dolphins and Jets still play the Patriots 2x like we do.

After this game, the Jets play the Dolphins, Browns, and Jags. Let's talk again then.

When they're 4-0 or 3-1? You say those teams like they should strike fear. Maybe one half of the jags does?

Qb in place? Jesus man, are you blind and you can only hear the John Murphy show or whatever corny name they call that now? 2 bills live.

Now that I mention it, part of me thinks a tasteless OJ joke exists in there somewhere, but I don't wanna be banned.

Expect it to at least mid week after losses this year....then these punchbowl pissers will be no where to be found after a win

Lol if they go 4-6 wins, you think that is going to deter some of us who have been seeing the same issues with this team for a year now.

It's really astonishing how someone can be just so unaware.

Jets’ play design and pass pro tonight have been perfectly tailored for a rookie qb making his first start.  Darnold has been under very little pressure from the Lions’ pass rush.

They are also playing at home against an Opponent who has a new HC (and hence a new scheme).  They did not have to go into Baltimore and play in the rain.  The pass rush from the Ravens were a lot different than what the Lions offered.  We cannot compare the two games!

I’m stating the obvious but having an incompetent oline coach with the losses of Richie to the CIA and Eric Wood to retirement really set us back this year no cohesion means being careful with Josh instead of letting him learn and getting stuck with Nate cause you didn’t want to get Josh killed... Jets had a solid oline already now Sam can just keep learning on the job

Pretty sure the Lions spent a ton of high picks on offensive and defensive line recently as well.  What the Jets proved is when the other QB sucks, and yours has a serviceable game, you usually win.

If the reason Josh Allen didn't start was our front office and coaching staff was scared, we have a much bigger problem.

while I mostly agree that the front 7 on both sides is more important than finesse players...it ain't that simple

explain the lack of success of the dallas cowboys offense , behind that great O-line ?

the Top 4 offensive lines in this list all lost in week 1:

Wow, people here are in denial and are caught up in the “trust the process” propaganda.  Let me remind you, the Bills got slaughtered 47-3.  An absolute embarassment!  Blaiming the rain, are you kidding me?  The Jets looked sharp, made some great off season moves and Sam Donald has the benefit of great coaching- Jeremy Bates (former QB) and veteran QB.  Unfortunately, Josh Allen has Peterman to help him throw interceptions.  Yes, it’s one game but the Jets are trending upwards and the Bills are looking like a 1-15 team.  Both teams  have a lot of cap room next year yet thanks to horrible management, the Bills have $100m dead money which is not all Beene’s fault.  The Jets also have the benefit of playing in a desirable market-NYC.  Let’s face it, the Jets are in a better position to ovetake the Pats as the new kings of the AFC east.  Hopefully, I am wrong.

Funny what how talent makes play design and pass protection, and coaches, look good.
