"QB is the only position that matters"?

I couldn't help but notice the irony.  In the off-season, there was a debate over how much to give up for a QB.  This was after the Jets traded up to third.  Some members here were yelling, saying Buffalo should have given up whatever it took to move.  When asked about other needs, the response was (actual quote, not kidding), "QB is the only position that matters."

...wonder if those members still feel that way after Sunday... ?

Yeah .. was thinking the same thing earlier looking at some of the melt downs in the last 24 hours...some of them by the "do whatever it takes to acquire your QB" crowd..

At least the "pain" to acquire Allen was contained to the one draft cycle.. imagine how we would be feeling if they had given up next years No 1 as well to get their QB...

Beane was prepared to give up more for Allen at his own admission after the draft, so on the positive at least we got Edmunds as well...

Trying to look at things optimistically as what's done is done..

If Allen is the guy he can mask a lot of the deficiencies. Peterman amplified them. We started the worst QB in history and had the second biggest loss in franchise history. That’s not a coincidence. This team has holes, no doubt but they absolutely didn’t overpay to obtain the guy that they think will be the franchise QB. If they are right about Allen this team will be back in the next couple of years. If he isn’t that guy they will spend the next year or so figuring that out and swing again in 2020.

this is exactly right. qb is the most important position possibly in all of professional sports. the object of the game is to outscore your opponent. this is a passing league. every coordinator in the league is trying to help his qb, or stop the opponent's qb. all other positions are complimentary. look at the game mack had. but then across the field was rodgers.
