JACKSONVILLE

Remember? He comes in and immediately throws a characteristic Nate style interception.

I owe you a beer on that one.

You are indeed correct and Pro Football Reference needs to do a better job of categorizing career stats...

Crazy how this Sweet Nate Pete chap has put McD under a spell.  He was terrible in 2 of his 3 starts.  I thought he played rather well vs the colts in that blizzard game.

But man......this guy is going to be known as the worst an ever.  Not even worst Bill.  The worst QB ever.  Poor guy.

This list is lacking some worthy candidates such as Joe Dufek and Bruce Mathison. Probably a few others. Many names that shouldn’t be on there are. Interesting, but flawed.

Only thing I would argue is that Miami wasn't in the league as long as the Jets or Patriots. It's a bad stat line for the Bills, but 2 of those QBs Totten and McClure were during the '87 strike games, not that you should toss those numbers, but it's not as bad as on the surface. And Manucci never actually started a game per the OP. For me the biggest bust was Ferragamo. I thought he would come in here and help turn things around, but he was terrible.

Got it from data on Pro Football Reference.

FWIW Manucci is listed a s starting a 1987 game against the Colts going 7 of 20 with 2 INTs and a rating of 5.8.

I've been a fan since the mid 60's and there has been plenty of bad QBs.

Peterman is now in that group.

It's limited to QBs who've won the starting role; otherwise it would be 732 QBs listed on there.

Not only does it save space and time, but it also highlights QBs who've actually been chosen as the preferred choice to start a game, rather than some clipboard holder who gets a start or two due to the real starter being injured.

Brian Brohm should be on the list, and he was awful.

So far, Nate's got him beat...

You forgot Joe Dufek. Of course, that would be easy to do being the qb during part of that 1984-85 Bills. Back to back 2-14 seasons!

If you thought Sunday's performance was bad, that's how the Bills were back then on a week to week basis!!  They just flat out stunk.

Who was the Bills qb during those "scab" games back in '86? or '87 was it? Would he count in this thread?

Amen brother. Those two guys were bad. Some Bills trivia: Mathison was the last qb before Kelly arrived. The rest is history.

Still Drew Bledsoe. Peterman is comfortably in 2nd place.

C'mon man...not even close!

Every guy on that list, except Peterman, had some degree of success.  Peterman has stunk in every apperence...as one old enough to remember them all, I have to say Peterman, by a long shot.  Two starts, two losses that were so bad, he had to be yanked before the game was even over.  Even Jeff Tuel (who I have heard him compared to a few times in the last 24 hours) and Thad Lewis played well enough to keep their teams in games, until making one fatal blunder...he has QB'd two of historically awful Bills offensive performances.

If I recall thouhg,  both Dufek and Mathison, had a few games that they kept the team in the game, before making mistakes to lose the game...I think Mathison even had a 300 yard game,. somewhere along the way.

You're not seeing the forest from the trees. Think of overall impact to the franchise!

Mathison sucked, but I liked watching him run around.

You got a better memory than I. Those seasons were highly forgetable.
