Which is the funniest part to me - how many times have I read on TBD "I'd rather lose EVERY game and get the number 1 pick, than win 7 or 8 games and pick in the middle of the draft." Well, good news everyone, looks like we're not going to be middling this year! As for it getting hot, just the nature of the NFL (or pro sports). I mean the Eagles, in their first game after winning the freaking Super Bowl got booed at half time. Fans are impatient and are going to B word no matter what happens. As has been joked, we could win the Super Bowl (clearly this is in some galaxy far far away) and fans would still say "We only won by 3, we got lucky!". ? That said they’re safe this year pretty much no matter what. They put a TON of pressure on themselves next year with this plan. And they did that with a very beat-up WR corps. And they had a fairly talented maturing defense that had been hampered by scheme for the previous two season. It was a veteran team with some high draft picks to bolster it. Like Mularkey taking over for Greggo.........it was a team poised for improvement. Enter McProcess.........exit the offensive approach that had provided their best scoring results in a quarter century.......exit the entire WR corps and league most productive per carry AND short yardage RB........trade two MORE very talented young players off of the defense in Dareus and Darby for very little.........and at that point the roster was in a bad way. All fair points, but McD didn’t make those trades, Beane did wouldn’t you agree? And my question to the other poster was what his prediction was given that most were pretty negative once the Sammy and Darby trades happened. Yet he still took that depleted roster and won 9 games, and likely 10 if not for his big mistake of starting Nate in SD. Odd. McD owes no answers and I have no problem with however he or any coach, GM, or owner interacts with the media. It's gone beyond just not being entitled to answers. If a coach doesn't show the same level of outrage and mirror the emotions of the fans on his sleeve, he's got to go in the opinion of some. McD may have to go for a lot of reasons given what he's shown his first 17 games at the helm (and he's been far from perfect), but not going apeschit at the podium after bad losses because that's how we feel, is far from one of them. Yesterday was terrible. They all deserve criticism for that. Last season the same coach took a team everyone thought would be terrible and made the playoffs. He won't say who will start until both QB's have been told. He also isn't going to elaborate or trash talk Peterman once he makes that decision, thats locker room suicide. But you are kinda saying I'm wrong lol. And it might be an assumption to think McD handles it with professionalism in the locker room.
