Tim Graham: What’s your comfort level of sticking with two quarterbacks on the 53-man roster, none on the practice squad and having Josh Allen run your scout team?

Beane: We’re weighing that. We’re going to get through this game, see where we’re at. [Wide receiver] Ray-Ray McCloud got nicked up, so we’re still seeing where he stands with things. Roster-wise, as a whole, lots of things still can fluctuate this week. We’ll see what’s out there. People are trying to stash guys. We really have not made a determination whether we want to go three on the active or one on the practice squad. It’s fluid, but this week we’ll have just two.

Paxton Lynch Clears Waivers; Workouts Next for QB

Paxton Lynch is officially a free agent.

The former first-round draft pick, who was waived by the Denver Broncos on Sunday after the team claimed Kevin Hogan, cleared waivers on Monday, a source informed of the situation told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

Despite his two-plus seasons of struggles in Denver, the quarterback should generate some interest on the open market. He's expected to get a chance to workout for some teams in the weeks ahead, Rapoport reported.

The first of those teams? The Buffalo Bills. Rapoport reports Lynch will visit Western New York on Tuesday for a workout. The Bills announced Monday that Nathan Peterman will open the season as the starter with rookie Josh Allen as the backup.

Just now, Elite Poster said:

Really makes you question the team's ability to evaluate QBs. This guy was an absolute mess and a lot of people, physically at least, compare him to Allen.

Ultimately, it really does not matter as he would serve as a PS QB most likely but damn.

It's a f'n workout. Chill.

Allen is the guy. If they can develop Peterman, and heck maybe Lynch on the practice squad or something, they have trade chips. Just like AJ McCarron, I think this is a case of collecting assests to maybe make some sort of trade in the future.

Tyrod fetched a third. So did Bridgewater. McCarron got a fifth. I think this idea makes sense.

Lynch needs to be rehabbed and has to put down the PlayStation controller. But there is still potential there, so I am okay with it. It's about collecting assets.

Really losing some belief in Beane/McDermott that they are working him out, seriously

Really? It is their job to explore options. Please, let's not get overly dramatic here.
